Looking up, she noticed a bespectacled girl had somehow appeared out of nowhere diagonally ahead—dressed in a neat, crisp set of work clothes, a ponytail tied at the back of her head, her face still carrying a hint of youthful innocence. She held a digital camera in her hands, had a microphone tucked under her arm, and carried an enormous backpack on her shoulders...
A reporter? A student? Hmm, she looked more like a female student, probably an intern at some newspaper.
But it seemed like she was photographing the wrong people, right? They weren't celebrities.
The girl snapped several photos from the front and side before putting away her camera, then hurried over with a clatter of footsteps. Without a word, she shoved the microphone in front of Rong Yi: "Hello, Mr. Zhou Yi! I'm Gezi from Sun Weekly. Can I interview you? Ah, you really are as handsome as the rumors say—no, no, even more handsome than in the photos."
She leaned in, showering him with flattery, and extended a voice recorder as well.
Qiqi was dumbfounded—so this was a reporter from a gossip magazine, here to interview Zhou Yi.
That sly fox Zhou was truly a big name—one moment it was a finance magazine, the next a gossip rag. His life was certainly colorful.
She quickly waved her hand: "Sorry, you've got the wrong person..."
"How is that possible?" The girl let out an exaggerated shriek. "Even though this is my first time out on an interview, I've already done my research on you, Mr. Zhou. All the reports say you're a handsome and dashing man. It has to be you..."
As she spoke, she pulled a photo from her backpack and held it up next to Rong Yi for comparison... Then, a look of embarrassment crept onto her face, and she muttered sheepishly, "Ah, it really isn't you..."
"Of course it's not him," Qiqi said, half laughing, half crying.
The girl's face instantly fell: "Oh no, oh no, I thought I could catch Zhou Yi hiding out here. I've been staking this spot since seven in the morning... Looks like I'm not getting the job done today again. This month's bonus is going to be completely wiped out..."
Qiqi couldn't help but laugh—this girl was so cute.
She asked, "What do you need to photograph Mr. Zhou for?"
Gezi immediately perked up: "To finish the assignment the agency gave me, of course! Sister, do you know Mr. Zhou? Do you have any scoop you can tip me off about? I'll give you a reward!"
Qiqi chuckled and quickly waved her hand—even if there was a reward, she wouldn't dare talk recklessly. That old fox Zhou Yi—was he someone she could afford to mess with?
Seeing Qiqi's refusal, Gezi immediately thrust the microphone toward her: "Miss, you're pretty familiar with Mr. Zhou, right? Is he recently dating Miss Wu Xianxian? You don't know? Oh, you're not answering—does that mean Mr. Zhou has some unspeakable secret..."
Qiqi regretted ever engaging with her.
Seeing that the other party wouldn't answer any questions, Gezi put away the microphone. After all, she wasn't Zhou Yi or the gossip queen Wu Xianxian, so interviewing her was pointless.
Her eyes then drifted back to Rong Yi. After a moment of starry-eyed infatuation, a surge of excitement welled up: "Sir, may I ask your name? What do you do for a living? Any interest in breaking into the entertainment industry?"
Qiqi was baffled: "Are you a reporter or an agent?"
Gezi scratched her hair: "Well, actually, I'm still a student, working part-time at Sun Weekly. I'm majoring in talent management, so I might become an agent someday... Sir, with your great looks, any interest in the modeling world? I know a few teachers who are seasoned agents. They might be able to hook you up with some ad shoots and help you become a big star."
