Chapter 19: Chapter 19: Don't Like Being Toyed With

Rong Yi was still wearing the blue-and-white striped hospital gown, her waist-length black hair casually tied back with a rubber band. Despite this casual attire, she carried an undeniable aura and beauty that couldn't be ignored.

"Y-you... hello..."

Zhuang Ruotong's peach blossom eyes flickered rapidly, her brain momentarily short-circuiting.

God! This was the first time she'd seen someone make a hospital gown look so cool!

She slowly approached Qiqi, instinctively reaching out her right hand, but Qiqi leaped three feet away—Nice try, trying to pinch me? I was ready for that!

Rong Yi, on the other hand, remained perfectly composed. She gave Zhuang Ruotong a slight nod, clasped her hands in a polite greeting, and said, "Hello, miss."

Her voice was low and slightly husky, incredibly alluring.

Zhuang Ruotong's eyes practically turned into hearts. After a brief moment of surprise, she covered her mouth and laughed. "Hehe, hello, Young Master Rong Yi."

Turning back to Qiqi, she winked and said, "Qiqi, your cousin is so funny!"

Gu Qiqi sighed inwardly and whispered in her ear, "I'll explain later, just take us home first!"

Zhuang Ruotong glanced around—the handsome figure had already drawn a crowd at the hospital entrance, and more people were gathering.

She quickly raised the convertible's roof, blocking the onlookers' view.

Qiqi pulled the Wolf King to the back seat and sat him down, then grabbed the seatbelt to buckle him in. But the Wolf King reached out and stopped her, his dark eyes filled with confusion. "What's this?"

Qiqi replied, "It's a seatbelt, to keep you safe."

Rong Yi shook his head. "No. I don't need it."

He hated the feeling of being restrained.

Qiqi thought to herself, Fine, if you insist, don't blame me for not warning you—Miss Zhuang Ruotong's driving skills were no joke!

She returned to the passenger seat, sat down, and buckled her own seatbelt.

Zhuang Ruotong looked on in astonishment.

Qiqi explained, "My cousin is from the mountains. He's never ridden in a car before."

Zhuang Ruotong shot Rong Yi an incredulous look, then started the car, which roared as it pulled onto the road.

Even though she tried to keep the speed down, Rong Yi's head still hit the backrest from the acceleration.

Serves you right!

Qiqi felt a secret thrill.

"Skrrt"—the car took a sharp turn, and Rong Yi's body slammed into the door.

Ha! Asking for it!

But Zhuang Ruotong noticed something was off and quickly hit the brakes. "Sorry, I'm already going as slow as I can!"

The car decelerated sharply, and the Wolf King lurched forward into the front seat.

Gu Qiqi sat upright in the passenger seat, struggling to hold back her laughter, nearly hurting herself from the effort. The frustration of being bullied by the Wolf King at the hospital earlier finally eased a little.

Still, considering the Wolf King was injured and she didn't know how well he'd recovered, Qiqi decided not to torment him too much. She reached up and grabbed the handle above the car door.

Stealing a glance, she saw the Wolf King, after a moment of startled confusion, mimic her and grab the handle too. But a dark cloud hung over his head—he clearly didn't appreciate being tricked.

The car left the city hospital and hit the main road, only to run into a massive traffic jam.

Cars clogged the lanes like beetles crammed onto a single leaf, horns blaring in a chaotic symphony.

The car began crawling at a snail's pace, rocking and swaying. The Wolf King frowned at the street now lit by neon lights.

"Why not take the official road?" he suddenly asked, pointing at the innermost lane of the highway.

That was a dedicated lane, off-limits to regular vehicles. Driving there would be a violation and result in a fine.

"Cousin's right, let's take the official road." Before Gu Qiqi could answer, Zhuang Ruotong spun the wheel, and the car veered into the dedicated lane.
