Chapter 12: Chapter 12: Accompanying He Yining on a Date

Where does a stylist go on a date with a client? For a major event, it makes sense to stay close to maintain their image at all times. But just for a date... Could it be that the person he’s meeting tonight is so important to him that he needs to bring a stylist along to ensure he looks polished and handsome every moment? At the thought of this possibility, Shen Qi let out a slight sigh of relief. She wished He Yining’s attention would be on someone else, so she could finally catch a break. He Yining just fixed his gaze on Shen Qi for a moment, then turned and walked outside. Shen Qi was still dazed when Xiao Chun approached her and said politely, “Miss Shen, please—” Snapping back to reality, Shen Qi hastily packed up her things, grabbed her bag, and followed. When she got downstairs, she saw a silver-gray Pagani Huayra parked at the entrance. A bodyguard in a custom Armani uniform respectfully opened the door for He Yining, who slid into the seat with effortless grace. Shen Qi looked around. Where were the other cars? If there were no other cars, how was she supposed to follow? Surely they didn’t expect her to run after them? Seeing Shen Qi still standing dumbly by the roadside, He Yining raised an eyebrow. His meticulously groomed brow arched like that, exuding charm and allure. “What are you standing there for? Get in!” He Yining glanced toward the passenger seat, signaling for Shen Qi to sit. Only then did Shen Qi realize she was supposed to ride in the same car as He Yining. Pointing at herself, she asked, “Me?” He Yining watched her rabbit-like bewildered expression and couldn’t help but curl his lips. No wonder he enjoyed teasing her—her panicked look was endlessly amusing. Assistant Xiao Chun personally opened the car door for Shen Qi. She felt as if she were floating, drifting all the way into the seat. Even after the car started moving, she still felt like her soul was hovering in the air. In all her years as a stylist, this was the first time she’d been taken along on a client’s date. And it was also the first time she’d shared a car with a client to go to one. Was she really not dreaming? Shen Qi couldn’t help but sneak a glance at He Yining. He seemed not to notice her staring, focused instead on driving. His features were like a painting—handsome and bold. Shen Qi found herself unable to look away. “The person we’re meeting tonight is Feng Kexin, the eldest daughter of Juli Electric. Be sharp and do whatever you’re told.” His voice, low and smooth like a cello, rang out gently. “Ah...” Shen Qi snapped back to reality, realizing she’d been staring at his profile for quite a while. Luckily, he didn’t seem annoyed by her rudeness, or she’d be doomed! Regaining her composure, she quickly replied, “Yes, I understand.” Even as she said it, Shen Qi was still puzzled. What did a stylist need to be sharp about? Was it about fixing his look if his appearance got slightly disheveled? He Yining glanced at Shen Qi, knowing she didn’t really get it. But he didn’t bother explaining—she’d understand soon enough. When they arrived at the destination, Shen Qi watched as He Yining casually tossed the car keys to the bodyguard behind him, still feeling dazed. As He Yining’s gaze fell on her, Shen Qi’s mind churned with doubt: Was he planning to bring her to the table? “Get out,” He Yining said. “You haven’t eaten all day, have you? I heard your stomach growling.”
