Shen Qi lowered her eyes and didn’t answer He Yining’s question. He Yining didn’t press further. After Shen Qi finished her styling, he nodded in satisfaction and turned to leave the room. Shen Qi watched He Yining’s retreating back and finally let out a sigh of relief. Being in the same space as this man was truly tense and exhausting.
Once her work was done, Shen Qi left the room and made her way to a balcony, gazing at the distant scenery. Jinghua Manor covered about fifty acres, with the main building being a four-story villa, flanked by two exquisite two-story structures. Directly facing the villa, in a sunny spot, was a large swimming pool. The water shimmered, refracting the sunlight into a dazzling display. On one side of the pool lay an artificial beach made of sand, dotted with several sun umbrellas where one could chat, sunbathe, or enjoy a BBQ. On the other side of the pool was a narrow road wide enough for three cars to pass side by side, and beyond that, a grove of trees. Next to the grove was a meticulously maintained garden, vibrant and lush from regular care.
As Shen Qi admired the manor’s beauty, the butler approached slowly and said, “Miss Shen, the CEO requests your presence at the golf course.”
“Golf course?” Shen Qi was taken aback. “Where is it?”
“It’s behind the villa.” The butler’s face bore a professional smile. “Please follow me.”
Shen Qi hesitated, puzzled as to why He Yining would summon her to the golf course. Yet, since she was here for work, there was no reason to refuse. She nodded and followed the butler out of the villa, heading toward the back door. Sure enough, after a short walk, she spotted someone in the distance swinging a club. She hadn’t expected that behind Jinghua Manor there would be a small golf course. Though compact, it had everything it needed—small but complete.
Shen Qi quickened her pace and saw He Yining, now changed into golf attire, chatting and playing with a man. She truly didn’t understand why she was there. Could it be that she was supposed to style the guest as well? As she drew closer, she heard He Yining say to the guest, “If you don’t believe me, we can make a bet. If I can teach her to play golf in the shortest time, you’ll let me have this project. What do you say?”
The other man laughed heartily. “CEO He, you’re joking.”
He Yining replied calmly, “I’m not joking, President Qian. You can test her first—does she know how to play golf?”
Shen Qi listened to their exchange without interrupting. When she reached them, she stood quietly. He Yining noticed her arrival, put away his golf club, and raised a brow, a sly smile playing on his lips. “Can you play?”
Shen Qi actually knew a little, but having overheard the conversation, she decided to help He Yining out. She shook her head. “No.”
President Qian turned to glance at Shen Qi, then looked at He Yining with some surprise. “CEO He, I recall your stylist was a man. How…”
He Yining suddenly smiled, both charming and commanding. “I felt like a change of style.” With that, he beckoned to Shen Qi. “Come here.”
Shen Qi hesitated for a moment before slowly walking over to He Yining’s side.
