Wen Qi played with Torterra for a while before letting it get accustomed to its evolved form on its own and dive into training.
Then, he went to check on the Metapod. Arriving at its location, he saw it training with intense focus, its earnest demeanor truly moving.
Wen Qi knew that, in daily training, Metapod was always the most diligent one.
These past few days, Metapod had leveled up again, now reaching level 24.
When Metapod spotted Wen Qi, it immediately scurried over. Watching the little short-legged ball move so fast, Wen Qi found it quite amusing.
As usual, Metapod climbed straight onto Wen Qi’s shoulder. He really couldn’t understand why this little creature, seemingly small, was so heavy—it defied logic.
Still, Metapod’s evolution was progressing quickly, so he needed to arrange more training for it soon to help it evolve earlier. That way, his own strength could reach new heights.
Following his earlier plan, Wen Qi set up training tasks for Metapod.
Metapod promptly threw itself into the exercises. Wen Qi observed for a while, confirmed everything was fine, and then left the small world.
It was already noon, and Bellossom had prepared the meal. Wen Qi called Wen Hua and his sister to come back for lunch.
Soon, Wen Hua and his sister returned with Sandslash. Wen Qi put Sandslash away, sending it into the small world to rest and eat first.
At the dining table, Wen Qi enjoyed the meal with Wen Hua and his sister.
Looking at the lavish lunch, Wen Hua and his sister felt it was even better than what they had during their own festivals.
They took a bite and found it incredibly delicious—even tastier than what they’d had at restaurants.
So, they dug in heartily. Seeing how much they loved Bellossom’s cooking, Wen Qi said to Bellossom:
“Look, they really enjoy the food you make. Your culinary skills are getting even better.”
Bellossom cheered happily, though she usually ate energy cubes, which were both tasty and healthy for Pokémon, occasionally sampling human food.
After the meal, Wen Qi said:
“You two can go home now and pack your things. Just come back tomorrow.”
Wen Hua and his sister acknowledged his words, said their goodbyes, and headed home.
Wen Qi released the Sandslash couple and said:
“You two can roam around the farm this afternoon. If you encounter any wild Pokémon, just drive them away—don’t hurt them.”
“Bellossom, you stay home and keep watch. I’m going out for a bit.”
Bellossom nodded in agreement and went to clean up the dishes.
The Sandslash couple went out to patrol, while Wen Qi left the farm with Gogoat.
Before leaving, Wen Qi called the neighboring village’s ranch, saying he’d be there soon and asking for the exact location.
The ranch owner, Sun Zheng, answered Wen Qi’s call. Thanks to the prior communication from the old village chief, his attitude was quite friendly.
After giving Wen Qi the address, Gogoat carried him swiftly toward the neighboring village’s ranch.
Though he hadn’t been back in years, Wen Qi was still familiar with the villages near his own, having often played there as a child.
Before long, Gogoat brought Wen Qi to Sun Zheng’s ranch.
Upon arrival, Wen Qi saw a man at the gate, around thirty or forty years old, accompanied by a Miltank.
Wen Qi checked with the system: deep yellow aptitude, level 40.
It seemed that if not for its aptitude limit, its level might have been even higher.
Sun Zheng, seeing Wen Qi riding Gogoat, noted his youthful face and the powerful aura emanating from Gogoat—stronger than his own Miltank. He knew Wen Qi was no ordinary person.
So, Sun Zheng quickly approached Wen Qi and said warmly:
“You must be Wen Qi. I’m Sun Zheng, the owner of this ranch. The old village chief mentioned your needs earlier.
He said you’re looking for some Miltank and Mareep. I can provide some, but not a large number.
After all, you know that economic Pokémon like Miltank are quite valuable.
If you need a lot, I can also introduce you to other ranch owners who might sell some.”
Hearing this, Wen Qi thought to himself that he didn’t have much money left.
He already had two Miltank eggs. He’d buy three more here to make five. A Miltank cost about 500,000 each, and Mareep were around 100,000. He’d get five of those too—his funds were running low.
Wen Qi said to Sun Zheng:
“Thank you for your trouble, Boss Sun. I need about three Miltank and five Mareep. Do you have them in stock?”
Sun Zheng thought briefly. His ranch did have that many Miltank, and enough Mareep.
So he said to Wen Qi:
“Mr. Wen, the numbers are sufficient. Should we rest at my place first, or go straight to the ranch to pick the Pokémon?”
Wen Qi considered and replied:
“Let’s go pick the Pokémon directly. I appreciate your help, Boss Sun.”
With that, Sun Zheng led Wen Qi into the ranch.
Sun Zheng’s ranch was located in a quiet suburb, smaller than Wen Qi’s family farm but with its own charm.
The ranch was surrounded by lush trees, like a green paradise.
The buildings were a bit old, but that aged look gave them a unique appeal.
Entering the ranch, the first thing that caught the eye was a golden wheat field, with ears of wheat swaying gently in the breeze, emitting a faint fragrance.
In the distance, a few leisurely Miltank strolled across the grass, occasionally letting out low moos.
At one corner of the ranch stood a quaint wooden house, with a flower bed in front where wildflowers bloomed, adding a touch of vitality to the peaceful scene.
The entire ranch exuded a serene and harmonious atmosphere, as if one had stepped into a world far from the hustle and bustle.
Sun Zheng led Wen Qi to a spacious warehouse where the Miltank rested.
Miltank were highly intelligent and could take care of themselves. Though there were over fifty here, the environment was spotless.
Sun Zheng said:
“These are all my Miltank. Since you’re introduced by the old village chief, I won’t cheat you. Those twenty-plus over there are the younger ones from the past two years. If well-raised, they can produce milk for many years.”
He pointed to the innermost group.
“If you want older ones, these on the outside are a bit older, but their levels are higher.”
Hearing this, Wen Qi checked with the system and found that the Miltank’s aptitudes were mostly red and orange, with a few yellow ones that were older and not worth raising.
Among the younger group, he didn’t find any outstanding aptitudes—only one with yellow. He had no better options, as they were all for milk production anyway.
With that in mind, Wen Qi said to Sun Zheng:
“Boss Sun, I’ll take those three. But what’s the price?”
Sun Zheng saw Wen Qi’s choice and didn’t say much.
Looking at the powerful Gogoat beside Wen Qi, he thought this young man had a bright future ahead, so he decided to offer a discount.
With that thought, Sun Zheng said:
“How about this? I’ll give you the three for 1.35 million.”
Hearing the price, Wen Qi knew the boss had given him a significant discount, so he gladly agreed.
