After dinner, the sky gradually darkened, and a quiet, shadowy atmosphere filled the surroundings. Wen Qi sat with his Pokémon around a warm campfire.
The light from the tent scattered in all directions. Fortunately, they were at the edge of the forest, where no exceptionally powerful Pokémon roamed, and the ones by Wen Qi's side were all quite strong. Otherwise, with that light shining out, other Pokémon would have already charged over to attack.
Wen Qi said to the Scyther, "Scyther, you lost the battle earlier. From now on, you're my Pokémon."
Hearing Wen Qi's words, Scyther didn't argue. It simply nodded, acknowledging the outcome of the fight.
Wen Qi took out a Poké Ball and captured Scyther without any resistance. It went smoothly.
"Congratulations, host, on completing the task. You've earned 5,000 points."
Seeing the task done and the points secured, Wen Qi thought to himself that doing tasks really brought in more points. If he had to rely solely on daily check-ins for points, buying anything from the shop would take ages.
After capturing Scyther, Wen Qi decided to spend the night in the small world and take care of Scyther's matters there.
With that, he put out the fire and brought all his Pokémon and the tent into the small world.
After settling the other Pokémon, Wen Qi took Scyther to where Venonat was. After all, they were both Bug-type Pokémon, and this place suited Scyther well.
As soon as Scyther saw this unfamiliar world, it felt it was perfect for it. The dense Bug-type energy in the air was especially easy to absorb. It felt that if it could live here from now on, its growth would be much faster.
But thinking about its current limitations in improving its strength due to its aptitude, it felt a bit down.
In truth, this small world did enhance a Pokémon's aptitude, but it was extremely slow, taking at least years to show results.
Because the improvement was so gradual, Wen Qi didn't pay much attention to it. After all, aside from Scyther, the other Pokémon all had at least green-tier aptitude, so there was no immediate concern.
Wen Qi sensed Scyther's mood and took out the potion he had shown it earlier. He said, "This is the potion that can boost your aptitude. Your physical condition is decent now, but I think you've already felt how this small world helps you. So, I suggest you rest well here tonight and take the potion tomorrow morning for better results. What do you think?"
Scyther understood that rushing wouldn't help, especially since this approach was more beneficial. It nodded in agreement.
With that, Wen Qi told Scyther to rest and absorb the Bug-type energy in the space.
Wen Qi arranged for all his Pokémon, sending them back to their respective areas, and then went to where Torterra and Gogoat were, settling into his old tent.
He thought about building a house here for more convenience. Since he was the master of this space, he could do whatever he wanted.
With a single thought, a beautiful wooden villa appeared before him. With this house, he wouldn't need the tent anymore.
Previously, Torterra and Gogoat slept out in the open, so Wen Qi also built a large shelter for them, big enough for both.
Wen Qi had walked a long way that day and was exhausted. He quickly fell asleep in the new villa.
The next day, Wen Qi woke up, had breakfast, and went to see Scyther.
He found Scyther already training. He hadn't expected it to start so early.
When Scyther saw Wen Qi approaching, it knew the moment to enhance its aptitude and evolve had come.
Wen Qi didn't say much. He knew what Scyther wanted. But last night, a new item had appeared in the shop.
It was a special Metal Coat that could halve weight and reduce Fire-type damage by half.
Without hesitation, Wen Qi spent 5,000 points to buy it.
This meant that after Scyther evolved, its weight would remain unchanged, so its speed wouldn't drop, effectively boosting its base stats.
Plus, with Fire damage halved, its only weakness—four times weak to Fire—would become just two times weak, greatly enhancing its defense.
Wen Qi brought out not only the green-tier aptitude potion but also the Metal Coat.
Scyther looked at the Metal Coat with confusion.
In the wild, very few Scyther evolved, and they rarely had access to a Metal Coat. Even its previous clan didn't have one.
Wen Qi noticed the confusion in Scyther's eyes and said, "Scyther, this item can help you evolve and become stronger."
Hearing this, Scyther was both surprised and delighted, knowing it could evolve.
Wen Qi knew that evolving and boosting aptitude at the same time would require a lot of energy, so he took out the high-grade energy cubes he had prepared the night before and placed them in front of Scyther.
"Scyther, these are the energy you need for evolution. Eat as much as you can."
Scyther understood this was for its own good and began eating voraciously. Soon, it had forced down twenty high-grade energy cubes, clearly stuffed.
Wen Qi carefully opened the potion bottle, and a fresh fragrance wafted out. He gently poured the liquid into Scyther's open mouth. It flowed like a fountain of life, slowly seeping into its body.
Scyther's body began to tremble slightly, as if a powerful force was awakening within it.
Meanwhile, Venonat floated in the air, using its psychic powers to manipulate the Metal Coat.
The Metal Coat danced up and down in the air like a silver cloud, slowly settling onto Scyther's body.
Venonat's psychic energy pressed the Metal Coat tightly against every inch of Scyther's skin, as if draping it in an unbreakable armor.
The evolution process was no easy task. Scyther's body shook violently. It clenched its eyes shut, a pained expression on its face.
Its body seemed to undergo an agonizing transformation, every inch of skin struggling. Yet, it never gave up, gritting its teeth and persevering.
Finally, with a thunderous roar, Scyther's body underwent a stunning change.
Its frame grew taller and more imposing, its limbs thicker and stronger, and a pair of massive pincers gleamed with a cold, sharp light.
It slowly opened its eyes, which sparkled with excitement and joy. It swung its huge pincers and let out a deafening roar, as if celebrating its rebirth.
Wen Qi looked at the majestic Scizor before him and smiled with satisfaction and relief.
