After setting up the camp, Wen Qi and Maoqiu placed some all-type energy cubes in an empty bird's nest on a nearby tree not far away.
This area was the territory of a Pidgeot, and no other Pokémon dared to linger here. Creatures like Caterpie and Rattata were prey for Pidgey, so they naturally fled as far as possible.
Thus, Wen Qi had no worries about other Pokémon coming to eat the food.
He had Maoqiu sprinkle some Sleep Powder around the food and set up a few alarm devices before leaving.
Wen Qi found a Pidgey and had it relay to the Pidgeot the matter of setting the trap, while also warning other Pidgey to be careful not to disturb it.
After handling these matters, Wen Qi figured that the Arbok wouldn't show up during broad daylight, so he took Maoqiu back to the camp. Still, he said to Maoqiu:
"Keep a close watch over there. Notify me immediately if anything happens."
Maoqiu nodded in agreement.
Back at the camp, Wen Qi rested inside the tent.
Since he was lying in wait and couldn't make too much noise, he put Torterra back into the small world.
After all, Torterra was so large that even a slight movement would create quite a commotion—better to keep it inside.
With nothing else to do, Wen Qi used his mind to check on the Pokémon in the small world, observing their training progress and offering them some tips.
And so, time quickly passed into evening. The sky gradually darkened, and Wen Qi knew that if the Arbok was going to act, it would likely start soon.
After all, the night was the Arbok's best cover, which was why it had succeeded repeatedly without being caught.
At night, the Pidgey's vision was severely limited, making it nearly impossible to spot the Arbok. But the Arbok could see the Pidgey's positions through thermal imaging.
Coupled with the Arbok's strength, weaker Pidgey were sometimes killed instantly before they could even react, let alone cry for help.
The night was like thick ink, slowly enveloping the entire forest. The trees in the darkness loomed taller, like giants guarding the land.
Moonlight struggled through the layers of leaves, casting dappled, hazy shadows, adding a touch of mystery to the silent night.
In this deep darkness, the Arbok appeared silently.
Its body flickered in and out of view under the moonlight, as if perfectly blending with the night. It moved slowly, each step light and cautious, as if afraid to disturb the forest's peace.
Its eyes gleamed with a faint light, as if searching for something, adding a hint of tension and unease to the tranquil night.
At that moment, the Arbok, craving the delicious taste of Pidgey, decided to hunt in the Pidgey's area tonight.
But it didn't know that this trip might be its last.
Wen Qi waited quietly. He had already discussed with the Pidgeot that the Pidgey should live as usual today, with no changes needed.
The Arbok crept forward in the night, like an invisible ghost, silently approaching the Pidgeot's territory.
Moonlight glistened on its smooth scales, giving off a faint silver sheen, but the Arbok paid no attention to its appearance—its mind was entirely focused on the upcoming action.
The Arbok knew well the Pidgeot's power. It had once seen the Pidgeot's majestic form and astonishing strength from afar, understanding the significant gap between them.
Because of this, the Arbok was even more cautious, afraid that any slight mistake would draw the Pidgeot's attention.
It moved slowly, each step careful, terrified of making even a sound.
Its eyes gleamed sharply in the darkness, constantly alert to everything around it. Despite its extreme caution, the Arbok's heart was filled with tension and anticipation.
Just as the Arbok was about to reach the Pidgey's location, a tantalizing aroma suddenly hit its nose.
This scent was far more enticing than any food it had ever tasted, compelling it to crawl toward the source.
The Arbok's mind was full of confusion and curiosity. It didn't know where the smell came from, but it couldn't resist the temptation.
Following the scent, the Arbok arrived at a tree, where it saw a bird's nest filled with colorful cubes. These cubes emitted a mouthwatering fragrance, making the Arbok drool.
It couldn't help but start tasting the cubes, finding them more delicious than anything it had ever eaten.
As it savored the food, the Arbok kept a wary eye on its surroundings.
It knew danger might be lurking here, but it simply couldn't resist the allure of the feast.
While enjoying the meal, the Arbok silently prayed, hoping to leave this place safely and return to its own territory.
However, as the Arbok ate with relish, it didn't notice that it had been coated with Sleep Powder.
At first, there was only a slight tingling sensation, but the Arbok was completely absorbed in the food.
So it didn't realize its body was slowly becoming paralyzed. When it finished the last piece, it also triggered the alarm device Wen Qi had set earlier.
Suddenly, a piercing alarm rang out in the silent, pitch-black night.
This jarring sound not only startled the Arbok but also brought the Pidgeot, who had been waiting for a long time, rushing over with its flock of Pidgey.
On Wen Qi's end, Maoqiu had detected the Arbok as soon as it appeared and informed him.
But Wen Qi didn't act. He wanted the Arbok to eat more and absorb more Sleep Powder, ensuring it couldn't escape later.
Hearing the alarm, Wen Qi immediately took Maoqiu, Gogoat, and the Scizor, who had already grown accustomed to its body, and rushed over.
Fighting at night was something his Pokémon had little experience with.
But for Scizor, night battles were routine, something it had done countless times.
Scizor arrived at the Arbok's location even before Wen Qi and the Pidgeot, seeing the Arbok panicked by the alarm.
At this point, the Arbok was terrified and wanted to flee, but when it tried to escape, its body stiffened, and it couldn't move.
Only then did the Arbok realize this was a trap. Knowing its body was paralyzed and unable to escape quickly, it relied on its wild Pokémon battle instincts and coiled up, assuming a defensive stance.
Just as the Arbok finished its defense, Scizor arrived.
With its rich combat experience, Scizor noticed the Arbok's body was stiff.
Wen Qi had told it about the Sleep Powder earlier, so Scizor knew the Arbok was currently paralyzed and much slower than usual.
Thinking this, Scizor didn't wait for Wen Qi to arrive. Seizing the opportune moment, it launched an attack directly at the Arbok.
