Wen Qi saw Pidgeot approaching and understood that they had already reached an agreement.
Pidgeot directly relayed the details of their earlier discussion to Wen Qi. Wen Qi realized that asking them to leave their current territory all at once was indeed not easy. Sending half first, with the rest deciding later based on the situation, seemed like an arrangement he could accept.
However, Pidgeot indicated that it needed to go back and pack up, and they would set off together after noon.
Wen Qi had no objections, so he waited for Pidgeot and the others while training his Pokémon, focusing especially on building synergy with Scizor.
Scizor had lived in the wild for too long and had developed its own unique battle rhythm.
Building synergy with Scizor meant not only getting Scizor to follow Wen Qi's commands but also requiring Wen Qi to familiarize himself with Scizor's combat style.
Moreover, after evolving, although Scizor's weight hadn't increased much, its speed had been somewhat affected.
Additionally, the type matchup issues after evolution needed to be relearned.
Thanks to the special Metal Coat, Fire-type moves no longer dealt four times the damage to Scizor as before.
If it could later learn Rain Dance, there would be virtually no Pokémon that could counter Scizor.
In the future, he could consider adding Scizor to his rain team, even though he currently only had Poliwag and Horsea.
But Scizor's addition would nicely cover the weaknesses of the other two Water-type Pokémon.
And the Water-types could help Scizor resist Fire-type damage—it was truly a win-win situation.
Plus, since Scizor had stagnated for so long without progress, its foundation was exceptionally solid, allowing for faster training later on.
After all, Scizor was a Bug-type and grew relatively quickly. It was possible that Wen Qi's first Gym-level Pokémon would be Scizor.
Time passed slowly amid this training, and by then, Pidgeot and the others had packed up.
This time, Pidgeot brought a few of its subordinate Pidgeotto and half of the Pidgey to Wen Qi, signaling that they were ready to depart.
Wen Qi quickly packed up as well. He had no intention of walking back this time. If he trudged along at a slow pace, the Pidgeot and the others in the air wouldn't know how to fly at such a sluggish speed.
So, he recalled all his other Pokémon, mounted Gogoat, and sped off like the wind toward his farm.
In the wild, Gogoat could clearly discern directions and knew the location of their farm, so they basically wouldn't get lost.
Thus, the journey that had taken a long time on foot was covered by Gogoat in just over an hour, bringing Wen Qi back to the farm gate.
Wen Qi didn't stop at the gate or head to the villa but went straight to the orchard. At that moment, no one else was in the orchard; Wenhua and his sister were probably planting vegetables in the back.
By then, Pidgeot had also seen Wen Qi's orchard and found it quite suitable for their living.
Although the fruit trees weren't ripe yet, the nearby forest was close, making it easy to find food. Plus, Wen Qi would provide them with food, so the conditions were decent.
Wen Qi looked at Pidgeot and said:
"For now, you all can make do here. Later, I'll have someone build you some small wooden houses—safe and rainproof. What do you think?"
Hearing that there would be new houses, Pidgeot thought it was good and led the Pidgey and Pidgeotto to settle in the orchard.
As soon as Pidgeot arrived, it spotted the largest fruit tree in the middle of the orchard, and the other Pidgey and Pidgeotto gathered around it, making their homes in the tree.
Seeing how quickly they had settled, Wen Qi approached Pidgeot and said:
"Pidgeot, I have two employees on my farm who want to raise a Pidgey. Can I pick two Pidgey from your group to give to them?
I promise I won't mistreat the Pidgey. Their training, care, and food will all be taken care of. Is that okay?"
Pidgeot thought it over. Since they'd be relying on Wen Qi's support in the future, giving away two Pidgey wasn't a big deal.
After all, the flock had over thirty Pidgey; losing two wouldn't make much difference and would even reduce food consumption.
Plus, there were over a dozen Pidgey eggs back in its nest, which would be another significant expense once they hatched.
So, Pidgeot agreed without hesitation.
Seeing Pidgeot agree so readily,
Wen Qi used the system to find two Pidgey with yellow-tier potential and explained the situation to them.
Upon hearing that they'd get free food, lodging, and training, the Pidgey agreed without a second thought.
Since the first batch of Pidgey were more human-friendly and didn't mind being caught, communication was easy.
If it had been the later batch, which was less friendly toward humans, catching them directly like this wouldn't have been so simple.
Wen Qi took out two Poké Balls and successfully caught them.
After settling Pidgeot and the others, he left behind some Pokémon food he'd bought earlier and secretly gave Pidgeot some Energy Cubes before heading off to find Wenhua and his sister.
In the backyard, Wenhua and his sister were digging the ground with Sandshrew and Sandslash, planting vegetables.
But they hadn't planted too many vegetables, since there were only a few of them, and they wouldn't be able to eat much.
They planted a small amount and, seeing plenty of empty space, continued clearing the land, planning to grow staples like rice and wheat later.
When Wen Qi arrived, Wenhua and his sister hadn't noticed him yet and were still busy working, but Sandslash and the others immediately sensed his presence and dropped their tasks to rush over to him.
Though they weren't particularly close to Wen Qi, having been caught by him, Sandslash and the others missed him a bit after his absence these past few days.
However, Wen Qi knew they probably missed Sandshrew more, so without saying much, he released Sandshrew to let the family reunite first.
Seeing Sandslash's reaction, Wenhua realized Wen Qi was back.
When they saw Wen Qi, Wenhua and his sister looked visibly excited, knowing that their Pokémon were finally within reach.
Wen Qi noticed the excitement in their eyes and didn't tease them. He simply took out two Poké Balls and tossed them to each, one male and one female.
Perfectly matching the brother and sister.
Wenhua and his sister caught the Poké Balls, their emotions mixed—unsure whether to cheer with excitement or cry with gratitude.
Other kids their age had long had their own Pokémon, while they only got theirs thanks to their kind boss.
Wen Qi said:
"Don't overthink it. Release the Pidgey here first. If there are any issues, I can help you handle them."
Following Wen Qi's instructions, Wenhua and his sister released the Pidgey.
The Pidgey leaped lightly from the Poké Balls, its eyes sparkling with curiosity, its wings trembling slightly as if ready to take flight at any moment.
Its demeanor was lively and spirited, its small head darting left and right as it curiously explored its two new owners.
Its colorful feathers shimmered beautifully in the sunlight, making it look especially adorable.
