When Wen Qi returned to the farm, the happiest one wasn't Bellossom but the Torterra left at home.
Since the day it hatched, this Torterra had never been separated from Wen Qi before. Although it had lived in the small world previously and hadn't been by Wen Qi's side every moment, the Torterra could genuinely feel that it was still close to him. But this time, Wen Qi had left it at the farm, and without him around, it wasn't even familiar with the people or Pokémon there. The one it had known the longest, Bellossom, was only about ten days or half a month old in their acquaintance.
So after Wen Qi left, the Torterra started off working earnestly, but as his absence dragged on, it gradually lost its motivation, and its efficiency plummeted. Fortunately, though, who could blame it when it had the care of a mythical Pokémon? Even if it wasn't working diligently, its output still far surpassed that of the two hardworking Sandslash. Often, the Sandslash couple would dig for ages, only for the Torterra to effortlessly finish the job with a single Grassy Terrain, leaving them feeling pretty frustrated. Still, it was fine—the Sandslash loved digging anyway, and they were always keen on burrowing through hills and caves when idle.
The moment Wen Qi returned, the Torterra, who was working out back, somehow sensed his presence and came charging over. Wen Qi had barely reached the villa entrance when he saw a cloud of dust roaring toward him, with a momentum like a thousand troops thundering in. Spotting this, Wen Qi quickly hopped back onto his Gogoat and bolted. He'd already recognized it was the Torterra, but with its massive body and that terrifying speed, if he didn't let the Gogoat carry him away fast, he'd be crushed to death. One hit from the Torterra would either kill him or break his bones, so he fled in panic.
Seeing Wen Qi racing away on the Gogoat, the Torterra chased even harder—the faster Wen Qi ran, the more fiercely it pursued. At this rate, Wen Qi shouted loudly, "Torterra, stop right now! Don't you have any idea how big you are? Charging at me like that—are you trying to kill me so you can get a new trainer?"
The Torterra, who had been feeling a bit down, finally slowed to a halt after hearing Wen Qi's words. Wen Qi breathed a sigh of relief when he saw it stop. The Torterra was growing bigger and bigger—just a few days ago, it was two meters tall, and now it was two meters twenty. It was probably going to become a colossal giant in the future.
Once the Torterra stopped, Wen Qi walked over to it, looking at this "baby" that wasn't even two months old, feeling quite speechless. Seeing the Torterra's awkward and aggrieved expression, Wen Qi understood it was just a deep longing for him. He didn't say much more and quietly comforted the Torterra.
After calming it down, he led it back to the villa. This trip to the black market, though it took less than two days round trip, felt to Wen Qi like it had packed in more experiences than the entire previous year, leaving him both physically and mentally exhausted. Once home, he did practically nothing—just snacked, watched TV, and let Bellossom wait on him.
Bellossom had missed Wen Qi a bit during those days apart, but seeing him like this, she instantly wanted to punch him. How had he gotten so lazy?
Over the next few days, Wen Qi truly did nothing. He delegated all the farm work to Wen Hua and his sister, along with the poor Sandslash couple, and occasionally had the Torterra help plant the tree fruit seedlings he'd bought earlier. The Poliwag and Horsea were also sent out to water things.
But Wen Qi wasn't completely idle. First, he went to the tree fruit orchard to check on how the Pidgeot family was doing and whether their living quarters were set up. He saw a small hut in the orchard, with a few Pidgey occasionally coming and going. He found the Pidgeot and asked if it was getting used to the place. The Pidgeot had been there a few days and felt it was really nice—the surroundings were safe, there was food provided by Wen Qi, and the living space was better than before. If nothing went wrong in a few days, it planned to go back home and bring its family over, as it missed them dearly.
Seeing that the Pidgeot had no issues, Wen Qi left, reminding it to protect the tree fruits. Though they weren't ripe yet, some Pokémon might come to steal them. With the Pidgeot and its Pidgey living there now, things were much better.
The second thing was taking the Poliwag to see the Poliwrath. He gave them three intermediate Water Stones and suggested the Poliwrath consider moving to the farm. But the Poliwrath hadn't agreed yet, and since the farm's pond and stream were a bit small, Wen Qi didn't force the issue. He planned to expand the pond first and then see if he could invite them over.
Those were the only two things he did in those days; the rest of the time, he just lay around. After all, Wen Qi had already arranged the Pokémon's training through the system, all within the small world. With a single thought, he knew what they were up to, so he didn't worry about them slacking off. Plus, his Pokémon were very self-disciplined and trained seriously.
But seeing Wen Qi like this, Bellossom had had enough. Lately, he was getting lazier, and she had more and more to do, leaving her no time to watch her shows. Wen Qi noticed Bellossom's temper flaring and realized she was handling everything at home alone, which was indeed exhausting. He planned to find a few more Pokémon skilled in housework to help her out.
Just as Bellossom was about to explode from being bossed around by Wen Qi, he sensed that in the small world, the Miltank eggs were about to hatch. Before Bellossom could lose it, he zipped into the small world, leaving her fuming alone. But before he was ready, he popped back out, grabbed the baby Pokémon supplies he'd prepared, and pulled Bellossom along with him into the small world. He realized that taking care of the babies would be easier with Bellossom's help—he couldn't handle two Miltank on his own.
Before Bellossom could react, Wen Qi had dragged her over to the Miltank eggs. She saw the eggs moving. Under the soft sunlight, the Pokémon eggs lay quietly in the incubator, emitting a faint glow like radiant pearls. As time slowly passed, tiny cracks began to appear on the shells, as if the little lives inside were struggling to break free and enter this new world.
Suddenly, the eggshell gave a violent shake, and a small crack quickly widened, eventually forming a complete opening. Then, a small, lively Miltank wobbled its head out of the shell. Its eyes were still a bit hazy as it curiously surveyed its surroundings, like a little angel just descended to earth. As its body gradually adjusted, the Miltank began to struggle, trying to free itself from the shell. After some effort, it finally broke free completely and stood on the grass. Though still a bit immature, it already showed its unique charm and vitality, like a rising new star.
Seeing the first one had hatched, Wen Qi signaled Bellossom to take care of it. Though she was still a bit annoyed, Bellossom happily went over to tend to the adorable Miltank. Before she was done, the second Miltank emerged. Seeing this, Wen Qi knew Bellossom couldn't handle it alone, so he quickly stepped in to help.
They gave the two little ones a bath, dried them off, and fed them some Moomoo Milk—milk from the Miltank on their own farm. After eating, the two little ones went straight to sleep, as newborns tend to be very drowsy. Wen Qi took out the small nests he'd prepared earlier and placed them inside.
