Over the past month, Wen Qi's Pokémon have seen a significant boost in strength.
First up is his starter Pokémon, Torterra, which has now reached level 30—a full nine-level increase, just one more level away from becoming an advanced Pokémon.
Level: 30 Type: Grass Ability: Overgrow (Boosts Grass-type moves when HP is low) Talent: Light Blue Moves: Tackle (Proficient), Withdraw (Proficient), Absorb (Mastered), Ingrain (Mastered), Growth (Mastered), Synthesis (Proficient), Razor Leaf (Proficient), Energy Ball (Mastered), Earth Power (Proficient, Variant), Grassy Terrain (Proficient, Variant), Mega Drain (Mastered), Leech Seed (Proficient), Bite (Proficient), Stomp (Proficient), Giga Drain (Proficient), Protect (Proficient), Heavy Slam (Beginner), Rest (Beginner), Sleep Talk (Beginner)
Not only has its level jumped dramatically, but several moves have reached mastery, with the most important being the acquisition of Rest and Sleep Talk—a huge boon for Torterra.
In training Torterra, Wen Qi focused on increasing its size, making it larger. Over the month, he fed it plenty of nutrients, and now it stands at 2.5 meters tall. From a distance, it looks like a small mountain, exuding an intimidating presence.
As for Venonat, its talent may not match Torterra's, but Bug-type Pokémon tend to grow quickly. After this month, Venonat not only evolved into Venomoth but also broke through the level 30 bottleneck, rising nine levels to reach level 34.
Pokémon: Venomoth Level: 34 Type: Bug + Poison Ability: Wonder Skin (Makes it less susceptible to status moves) Talent: Deep Green (Talent improving) Moves: Tackle (Proficient), Mean Look (Proficient), Supersonic (Proficient), Confusion (Mastered), Poison Powder (Mastered), Stun Spore (Mastered), Sleep Powder (Mastered), Psybeam (Proficient), Psychic (Mastered), Bug Buzz (Proficient), Bug Bite (Proficient), Toxic (Proficient), Acid Spray (Proficient), Absorb (Proficient), Quiver Dance (Proficient), Agility (Proficient), Air Cutter (Proficient), Air Slash (Proficient), U-turn (Proficient)
In this short time, it gained nine levels, evolved successfully, and mastered several moves. As a support and control specialist, its use of Confusion and the three powders is particularly outstanding.
During this period, Wen Qi trained alongside Venomoth in psychic abilities, and both grew stronger. Moreover, thanks to evolution and Wen Qi's careful nurturing, its talent is steadily improving, likely reaching Light Cyan by the time it becomes an elite Pokémon.
Horsea remains much the same, with slower growth, but it still gained six levels and is now at level 22.
Pokémon: Horsea Level: 22 Type: Water Ability: Sniper (Powers up moves when landing critical hits) Talent: Deep Green Moves: Leer (Proficient), Water Gun (Mastered), Smokescreen (Proficient), Focus Energy (Proficient), Dragon Breath (Proficient), Dragon Pulse (Proficient), Agility (Proficient), Dragon Dance (Proficient), Twister (Proficient), Bubble Beam (Beginner), Hydro Pump (Beginner), Ice Beam (Beginner), Icy Wind (Beginner), Rain Dance (Beginner)
Though Horsea works hard, its Dragon-type lineage slows its growth, so this progress is commendable, and Wen Qi is quite satisfied.
Bellossom isn't very interested in boosting its strength, preferring chores, gourmet food, and binge-watching shows. Over this time, it only improved by four levels, now at level 36.
Pokémon: Bellossom Level: 36 Type: Grass Ability: Healer (Sometimes cures the status conditions of allies) Talent: Cyan Moves: Acid (Proficient), Absorb (Proficient), Growth (Proficient), Sweet Scent (Proficient), Mega Drain (Proficient), Poison Powder (Proficient), Stun Spore (Proficient), Sleep Powder (Proficient), Giga Drain (Proficient), Toxic (Proficient), Moonblast (Proficient), Grassy Terrain (Proficient), Petal Blizzard (Proficient), Quiver Dance (Proficient), Charm (Proficient), Grassy Glide (Proficient), Pollen Puff (Proficient), Swords Dance (Proficient)
Looking at these moves, it's clear how lazy Bellossom has been lately. Its talent is among the best of Wen Qi's Pokémon, yet not a single move has reached mastery. From now on, he can't spoil Bellossom too much and needs to push it to train harder.
Sandshrew often goes out digging with its parents but spends most of its time training in the small world. As a rodent-type Pokémon, it grows quickly, evolving into Sandslash and gaining seven levels, now at level 24.
Pokémon: Sandslash Level: 24 Type: Ground Ability: Sand Veil (Boosts evasiveness in a sandstorm) Talent: Deep Green Moves: Scratch (Proficient), Defense Curl (Proficient), Poison Sting (Proficient), Sand Attack (Proficient), Rollout (Proficient), Fury Cutter (Proficient), Rapid Spin (Proficient), Dig (Proficient), Swords Dance (Proficient), Bulldoze (Proficient), Slash (Proficient), Stomp (Proficient), Swift (Proficient), Fury Swipes (Proficient), Agility (Proficient), Drill Run (Proficient), Metal Claw (Proficient)
After evolution, its talent improved from Green to Deep Green—not a qualitative leap, but progress nonetheless, allowing for faster growth in the future. This Sandslash trains with exceptional dedication, evident from the moves it has learned. Wen Qi didn't aim to make it large and imposing but instead focused on a fast-attack style. While Sandslash isn't particularly fast, its small, agile frame, combined with underground attacks, makes it excel in close combat with solid physical attack and defense. Thus, training emphasized making it sturdier, enhancing both physique and speed.
As for Gogoat, it's similar to Bellossom—reluctant to battle unless Wen Qi insists. Though it trained more seriously this period, its higher level and Deep Green talent meant it only gained three levels, now at level 47.
Pokémon: Gogoat Level: 47 Type: Grass Ability: Sap Sipper (Boosts Attack when hit by a Grass-type move, instead of taking damage) Talent: Deep Green Moves: Tackle (Proficient), Growth (Proficient), Vine Whip (Proficient), Tail Whip (Proficient), Leech Seed (Proficient), Razor Leaf (Mastered), Worry Seed (Proficient), Synthesis (Proficient), Take Down (Proficient), Stomp (Proficient), Seed Bomb (Proficient), Bulk Up (Mastered), Double-Edge (Mastered), Horn Leech (Proficient), Leaf Blade (Proficient), Earthquake (Proficient), Grassy Terrain (Mastered), Grassy Glide (Proficient), Dig (Proficient), Protect (Proficient), Rest (Proficient), Sleep Talk (Proficient), Milk Drink (Proficient), Hyper Beam (Beginner), Rain Dance (Beginner)
Though its level didn't rise much, it learned impressive moves, many reaching mastery, including the powerful Hyper Beam and Rain Dance to counter Fire-types. Wen Qi aimed to make Gogoat faster and more enduring. Using the system's methods, he increased its size slightly. Although Gogoat had long passed its growth stage and wouldn't normally grow taller without Wen Qi's intervention, he didn't make it too large to avoid losing agility—just a ten-centimeter increase, from 1.7 meters to 1.8 meters. While a bit taller, the bigger change was in becoming more robust, no longer as lean as before.
