Kecleon quietly approached Bulbasaur, soothing it with a gentle voice to calm its fears.
Meanwhile, Wang Jian pulled out some special tools to lure the Ivysaurs away.
At that moment, Bulbasaur was still quite curious about the unfamiliar Kecleon—it was the first time it had seen any Pokémon other than Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, or Venusaur. Though it didn't know why it was here, its curiosity about the strange Kecleon grew, and when Kecleon brought out toys it had never seen before, Bulbasaur started playing along.
Wang Jian successfully used the tools to create distractions, temporarily keeping the Ivysaurs from noticing them.
After some effort, Wang Jian and Kecleon managed to resolve the immediate crisis.
They knew this was only temporary; they still needed to find a more permanent solution. But at least for now, they could breathe a little easier.
Just then, Bulbasaur seemed to sense something—perhaps the presence of its own kind.
Whether due to some innate talent, Bulbasaur could detect familiar scents from far away.
Though the human and Kecleon in front of it were treating it well, something felt off. The longer it stayed here, the more uneasy it became, for reasons it couldn't explain.
Despite its playful nature, it was starting to miss its mother. Just as it caught that familiar scent, it let out a cry.
That cry, though soft, was unmistakably clear in the silent night.
Hearing it, Wang Jian knew trouble was coming. He quickly signaled Kecleon to knock Bulbasaur unconscious.
Kecleon reacted swiftly, striking Bulbasaur before it could cry out a second time.
Even so, their position was exposed.
The Ivysaurs were already heading their way. Though not particularly strong, this was just a search party; more powerful ones were nearby, and with the commotion, they'd likely arrive soon.
Wang Jian realized he couldn't escape without dealing with these Ivysaurs first.
So he had Kecleon carry the unconscious Bulbasaur on its back and released his ace Pokémon, Shiftry, to take them down quickly.
Shiftry, a Pokémon of immense strength and intelligence, was Wang Jian's trump card.
Its sharp claws and agile movements made it nearly unbeatable in battle.
When Wang Jian released Shiftry, it immediately displayed its unparalleled combat prowess.
Shiftry's wings flapped hard, whipping up a gale that scattered leaves and dust in all directions. Its eyes gleamed with battle fervor, as if heralding its impending victory. The Ivysaurs felt Shiftry's pressure and instinctively halted, fear flickering in their eyes.
The battle began. Shiftry moved like a black lightning bolt, darting among the Ivysaurs.
Each swipe of its claws sent wind blades slicing through the air with sharp whistles. Despite their resistance, the Ivysaurs' strength was pitiful against Shiftry.
Shiftry's attacks were not only fast but precise, each one striking the Ivysaurs' weak points without fail.
Soon, the Ivysaurs fell one by one, their bodies cut by the wind blades, unable to continue fighting.
But just as Shiftry was about to finish them off, a deep, powerful roar echoed from afar.
It was the Venusaur—they had finally arrived on the battlefield.
Seeing their kin defeated, the Venusaur felt a mix of anger and sorrow.
They quickly launched a counterattack, their petals glowing brightly and firing beams of light at Shiftry, Wang Jian, and the others.
Though powerful, Shiftry had to retreat temporarily under the combined assault of the Venusaur.
Wang Jian knew they were out of time.
The arrival of the Venusaur meant even stronger enemies were coming. They had to leave immediately.
He quickly instructed Kecleon to secure the unconscious Bulbasaur on its back, and together they fled the battlefield.
Under Wang Jian's command, Shiftry used its special ability to create a massive whirlwind, blocking the Venusaur's sight and attacks.
With the whirlwind as cover, Wang Jian, Kecleon, and the unconscious Bulbasaur swiftly escaped into the night.
Though furious, the Venusaur knew the best chance for pursuit had passed.
They could only watch helplessly as Wang Jian disappeared, their hearts filled with resentment and anger.
Yet they didn't give up. They decided to keep tracking him, determined to reclaim their lost kin.
Wang Jian and Kecleon sped through the darkness, knowing this battle was just the beginning. They still had a long road ahead.
But no matter what, Wang Jian wouldn't give up. This was a Bulbasaur with cyan potential—a Pokémon he'd secured, and he wouldn't abandon it unless absolutely necessary.
What Wang Jian didn't realize was the scale of the trouble he'd caused.
Deep in the forest, the Alpha Venusaur radiated a chilling killing intent. Was it being taken for granted in its old age? Someone dared to cause trouble and steal the future hope of its clan.
It had just been informed that a human and a Shiftry had taken it and were still fleeing through the forest.
The Alpha Venusaur let out a low roar, which slowly spread throughout the inner forest.
Instantly, the leaders of various clans in the inner area heard the Alpha Venusaur's command.
Though a few powerful ones, seeing the Venusaur's age and waning authority, were reluctant to obey.
Most clan leaders, however, heeded the Venusaur's order to track down Wang Jian.
The Alpha Venusaur's command stirred the entire inner forest into a frenzy.
Even if the Alpha was old, its presence still commanded fear.
Countless Pokémon followed their leaders' orders and began searching for Wang Jian.
The commotion was so great it affected the outer areas, startling the Pokémon there into fearing something had gone wrong in the inner forest.
For safety, they frantically fled toward nearby towns and villages, triggering the incident that unfolded.
Wang Jian, meanwhile, was having a rough time. He'd thought he only needed to avoid the Venusaur and ignore the other Pokémon.
But he underestimated the Alpha's influence. He noticed that while the surrounding Pokémon didn't attack him immediately, they were all closely tailing him.
That's when Wang Jian realized the danger—they were monitoring him. With that thought, he had Shiftry quickly eliminate the watchers.
He hurried away, but shortly after he left, several gym-level Venusaur arrived, just a step too late.
Still, it didn't matter. By now, the entire inner forest was essentially sealed off. If Wang Jian wanted to leave, he'd have to break through—but every exit was guarded by gym-level or elite Pokémon.
Even if he forced his way through, it would take time.
As for the sky, many Pidgeot, Swellow, Fearow, and other Flying-type Pokémon were patrolling. Escaping by air was likely impossible.
