The mythological path of Amaterasu?
This is the supreme deity in Yamato mythology, the sun goddess...
It’s not hard to imagine what abilities this Yamato goddess wields by walking this mythological path.
Looking at the ninja who died horribly, Feng Lin’s mind stirred. He rummaged through the items left behind, fiddling with them for a moment.
On the spot, another ninja appeared, his face shrouded in a black cloth, his form nearly identical—completely convincing as a replica!
Feng Lin realized his build was similar to the ninja’s. Using Yamamoto Ichiro’s clothing and ninja tools, he had no trouble disguising himself.
As if already envisioning the misfortunes of those Yamato people, he chuckled softly, mimicking the ninja’s voice in a low tone to adjust his pitch until it was indistinguishable from the real one, then nodded in satisfaction.
He swiftly buried the ninja’s corpse in the soil, picked up a map, and began studying it. It was clearly an ancient artifact, exuding a weathered aura of long ages, depicting mountains and rivers.
This demon illusion was a scene from Izumo Province in Yamato mythology. The map detailed the distribution of various demons, with three symbols standing out prominently: the three great native Yamato demons—Shuten Dōji, Tamamo-no-Mae the nine-tailed fox, and the Great Tengu.
Shuten Dōji was an oni who feasted on women and delighted in drinking human blood, hailed as the king of a hundred demons.
Tamamo-no-Mae was a powerful demon with peerless beauty and allure, possessing nine tails, each capable of wielding a different ability.
The Great Tengu was a humanoid demon with a long red nose, towering stature, wings on its back, clad in ancient Yamato warrior armor, wielding a katana, and inherently proud.
Among the three great demons, Shuten Dōji was the most ferocious, Tamamo-no-Mae the most bewitching, and the Great Tengu the most formidable in combat.
According to the ninja Yamamoto Ichiro, the Yamato people had identified these traits and set out purposefully to capture shikigami.
Fūma Tarō led a group to capture Shuten Dōji, while the goddess, being a woman immune to the nine-tailed fox’s charms, went to deal with Tamamo-no-Mae.
Only the Great Tengu, with its flight ability and terrifying combat power, was extremely difficult to handle.
They had clearly chosen to give up on it.
But Feng Lin had other ideas. The other two demons were already claimed by these Yamato people; snatching them would only alert the enemy.
Though the Great Tengu was tough to deal with and skilled in flight, Feng Lin could also ride clouds and mist, so he wasn’t intimidated.
If he could subdue the Great Tengu as a shikigami, it would be like acquiring a strange treasure—a major boost to his combat strength, perfect as a formidable enforcer.
When he clashed with those Yamato people, their expressions would surely be priceless as they faced a great demon from their own mythological lore.
The map showed the Great Tengu’s lair at Tengu Peak, about 50 kilometers southeast of his current position.
To avoid unnecessary delays, Feng Lin wasted no time. He rode clouds and mist, flying straight toward Tengu Peak from high above.
With his mental gene at 6 points, his mind was sharply enhanced, greatly increasing the speed and duration of cloud-riding. He tore through the air with a rush of wind.
Soon, a towering peak emerged among the rolling mountain ranges, like a sword thrusting into the sky. It was covered in jagged rocks, devoid of any trees, exuding an eerie stillness.
A layer of black clouds hung over the peak, never dissipating, shrouding it in perpetual darkness—quite sinister.
This was demonic aura!
Feng Lin looked up at the black clouds above, his expression grave. The demonic energy was so dense it felt tangible. Truly, this was a great demon from Yamato legend, nothing like the lesser spirits and wild ghosts. Even he felt a heavy pressure.
Interesting!
Feng Lin accelerated, closing in.
“Who goes there?” A furious roar came from afar.
At the peak sat a figure over three meters tall, cross-legged, its demonic aura forming black clouds that enveloped its body, expanding and contracting with each breath. This was clearly a great demon that knew how to cultivate.
Sensing Feng Lin’s approach, the demon raised its head, revealing a dog-like red face with a long, upright nose, cold eyes, and an arrogant expression.
“Human, are you like those lowly ones before, trying to subdue me?” The Great Tengu’s voice was icy, its eyes fixed on Feng Lin, ready to pounce at the slightest move.
“That’s right!” Feng Lin showed no fear, admitting it bluntly.
“Oh? You’re that confident!” The Great Tengu stood up, its body reaching five meters tall, like a giant. Its wings wrapped around its torso, hiding it within, as demonic aura churned like black clouds blotting out the sky.
The clouds pressed down, threatening to crush the city, an overwhelming pressure flooding in like seawater. An ordinary person would likely have their courage shattered instantly.
Clang!
The katana at the Great Tengu’s waist was already drawn, its murderous aura piercing—a weapon that had claimed countless lives.
Heh heh heh!
Feng Lin sneered coldly. Who was this show of intimidation for?
He gripped empty air with both hands, and surging power coalesced into a golden sword. He thrust it into the sky and gave a sudden twist.
In an instant, heaven and earth were overturned. The demonic black clouds churned violently, scattering into nothing.
Sunlight, unseen for millennia, streamed through the clouds, illuminating the dark peak and shining into the Great Tengu’s eyes, blindingly bright.
Go!
Feng Lin pointed like a sword, and his mind transformed into iron chains that slid with a clatter, binding heavily around the demon.
Once caught, the Great Tengu would become like the ninja before—a lamb to the slaughter, powerless to resist.
Annihilation Slash!
The Great Tengu’s eyes shrank, flashing with eerie light. Gripping its sword with both claws, it raised it high toward the sky and slashed down fiercely. A sharp black light streaked through the air.
A crescent-shaped black blade cut down, annihilating all, severing even the intangible power of the mind.
Clatter, clatter, clatter!
Black wings flapped, as if blotting out the sky, stirring up a dark storm of demonic aura that rolled in like a level-13 gale, hurling rocks like rain, crashing down.
Feng Lin stood firm in the demonic wind, unmoving. His fists thundered like drums, his strength vibrating. Under his iron fists, everything in his path turned to dust.
Whoosh!
A massive figure shot into the air, merging man and sword, carrying the force of a falling star, plummeting like a meteor. The blade’s gleam was fierce, cutting through all.
Feng Lin’s mind moved in response, stirring thick clouds to shroud himself entirely.
Nirvana Second Slash!
The Great Tengu’s blade danced, forming a continuous net of light in the air, slicing through the clouds in an instant. They scattered, leaving no trace of Feng Lin!
The Great Tengu instinctively sensed something wrong, looking up at the sky to find Feng Lin standing high above its head.
Heaven-Overturning Hammer Seal!
Ha!
Feng Lin took a deep breath, his face flushing red. He raised his arms and pressed down hard.
Boom!
A mountain-like pressure suddenly descended, crushing down.
Feng Lin fell like a cannonball, crashing heavily into the Great Tengu’s chest, both of them hurtling toward the ground at breakneck speed.
