"The Lin family is nothing but an empty shell now. If you want to turn this shell into complete ruins, go ahead and try."
Yan Xin's face was cold, paying no heed to his words at all.
Lin Haoran's face instantly turned pale. He understood Yan Xin's implication all too well, clenching his fists, the anger in his eyes unmistakable.
"Let's go."
Yan Xin ignored his reaction and directly pulled Fang Shiqing away.
Only when they reached the hall did he realize where his hand was, awkwardly letting go with a slightly unnatural expression. "Sorry."
Fang Shiqing's cheeks flushed faintly as she shook her head with a smile. "I have to thank you again for saving me."
"It was just a convenience. But letting him keep harassing you like this isn't a solution. You'd better think of a permanent way to deal with it."
Yan Xin reminded her.
"To handle a persistent pest, you need stricter measures. Don't worry, I'll deal with him."
Fang Shiqing smiled.
This whole thing started because of her. If she hadn't been blind enough to fall for Lin Haoran back then, none of this would have happened.
Speaking of which, you can't judge a person by appearances alone!
On the surface, Lin Haoran seemed harmless, but who knew he'd turn out to be such a piece of work?
"I'll step in when necessary, but since this involves your personal feelings, there are things I can't meddle with too much."
Yan Xin said calmly.
Fang Shiqing was grateful for his help. The two chatted and laughed as they went upstairs. They were about to visit Su Banxia together when Fang Shiqing suddenly remembered she had unfinished work and went home first.
Yan Xin entered the hospital room alone, seeing Su Banxia sitting by the bed. He placed the porridge he'd bought on her bedside table. "Feeling better?"
"It was never a big deal. A day's rest and I'm much better."
Su Banxia's smile was faint.
"Starving your stomach is serious. Don't be so careless in the future."
Yan Xin kindly advised.
Su Banxia nodded, about to say something, when Pei Shaoze's burning gaze fixed on her. Her heart sank, and all her words seemed stuck in her throat.
"There are still company documents to handle, so I'll head back first."
Yan Xin knew the situation and stood up to take his leave.
Su Banxia nodded awkwardly at him, watching him leave.
"Can't bear to see him go?"
Pei Shaoze's voice was low, but it carried a strange edge.
"No, not at all."
Su Banxia instinctively shook her head, then looked up at Fang Shiqing. "Did you come with President Yan?"
Fang Shiqing paused, not denying it, and briefly recounted what had happened downstairs.
Hearing this, Su Banxia's brow furrowed. She'd run into Gu Feifei at the hospital at noon, and now Fang Shiqing had encountered Lin Haoran in the evening.
She knew the story between those two all too well.
Seeing the meaningful smile on Su Banxia's face, Fang Shiqing couldn't help asking, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing. Just thinking it's been too long since I stirred up some trouble. I'm a bit bored."
Su Banxia smiled lightly.
Hearing this, Pei Shaoze couldn't help glancing at her, then checked his watch. Deciding it was time, he forcibly took the two children home.
Without the icy presence nearby, Su Banxia and Fang Shiqing chatted happily.
"Traffic diversion?"
Fang Shiqing was shocked by the news.
"I overheard Lin Haoran and Gu Feifei talking in the woods before, and now I've run into both of them at the hospital separately. That says a lot."
Su Banxia said frankly.
Fang Shiqing clicked her tongue. "That man is beyond scummy. He'll stoop to anything!"
"But what I'm more curious about now is whether Ren Yuan knows he's been cuckolded so thoroughly."
Su Banxia clicked her tongue.
"I heard Ren Yuan was sent by the Gu family to negotiate a deal recently. He probably doesn't know yet."
Fang Shiqing analyzed.
"No wonder."
Su Banxia smiled thoughtfully.
Fang Shiqing found the news satisfying. She hadn't forgotten the shameless things those two had done together back then. Ren Yuan chose this path, so he'd have to face the consequences.
"But are you planning to tell Ren Yuan?"
Fang Shiqing asked seriously.
Su Banxia shook her head. "I won't get involved in this. It's Ren Yuan's own business."
She had no connection with him anymore. Why would she meddle for no reason?
Fang Shiqing understood her meaning, but since it involved Lin Haoran, she wasn't about to let it slide!
"Shiqing, about you and Lin Haoran..."
"Don't worry, I'll handle it."
Fang Shiqing smiled reassuringly.
Su Banxia didn't press further, just looked at her intently, a deepening meaning in her eyes.
Perhaps her gaze was too intense, making Fang Shiqing touch her face in confusion. "Is there something on my face?"
"Shiqing, what's going on between you and President Yan?"
Su Banxia stared at her expression, asking very seriously.
Fang Shiqing's heart seemed to skip a beat, and she turned away awkwardly. "Why are you suddenly asking about that?"
"Have you fallen for President Yan?"
Su Banxia hit the nail on the head.
Seeing the two walk in together from the door earlier, it wasn't hard to guess.
"No, that's not true."
Fang Shiqing cleared her throat and denied it.
"Someone who's saved you so many times in a row—you should cherish and hold onto that."
Su Banxia raised an eyebrow.
She knew Yan Xin's character well. If Fang Shiqing could end up with him, it would be a good match.
"Stop worrying about my love life. Focus on yourself. Tell me, what are you really thinking about Pei Shaoze?"
Fang Shiqing sighed helplessly. The relationship between those two was always hard to read—sweet enough to make you sick one moment, then puzzlingly cold the next.
"Haven't I already said it?"
Su Banxia pouted.
"You're treating this like a kids' game, thinking a little fuss will blow over?"
Fang Shiqing's face turned stern, her tone lecturing.
Su Banxia blushed, at a loss for words.
"I've said my piece. How you handle it and choose is up to you."
Fang Shiqing said sincerely.
Whether the Pei family accepted her didn't matter—what mattered was what Pei Shaoze thought.
As long as that man was devoted enough to her, all these problems could be solved. It was just a matter of time, so why cling to so many worries?
"I'll think it over carefully."
Su Banxia said calmly.
