Su Banxia looked up in confusion. "What do you mean?"
"You've fallen for him."
Fang Shiqing raised an eyebrow, a hint of a smile playing on her lips.
"Shiqing!"
Su Banxia's face flushed red as she shot her a reproachful look.
Fang Shiqing playfully stuck out her tongue, pulled a chair over, and sat beside her. "I'm serious. Guess who I ran into on my way here?"
"Yan Xin?"
Su Banxia gave her a once-over.
"Can't you think of something good?"
Fang Shiqing rolled her eyes in exasperation. This girl was deliberately bringing up the sore spot!
Su Banxia glanced at her nonchalantly. "Don't tell me you ran into Lin Haoran?"
"Not Lin Haoran, but I did run into Ren Yuan."
Fang Shiqing smiled.
"Him?"
Su Banxia froze, a flicker of surprise crossing her face.
Fang Shiqing let out a sigh. "I subtly hinted at Gu Feifei and Lin Haoran's relationship. He actually took the bait and rushed back from out of town to check on things at the hospital."
"You're just gloating, aren't you?"
Su Banxia shook her head with a helpless chuckle.
"I just want to watch the dogs tear each other apart. Three scumbags together—isn't that a perfect show? All we have to do is grab some popcorn and sit back."
Fang Shiqing was full of anticipation.
Hadn't she been waiting for this chance all along?
Su Banxia couldn't be bothered with their drama, so she let Fang Shiqing have her fun. Besides, while she didn't harbor hatred for what happened before, that didn't mean she'd just let it slide.
"Be careful when you do this, or Lin Haoran and the others might retaliate."
Su Banxia warned her kindly.
"Don't worry about that. They're too busy tearing into each other to bother with me."
Fang Shiqing was in high spirits and didn't care at all.
Seeing this, Su Banxia didn't press further and just smiled faintly.
Fang Shiqing stayed and chatted with Su Banxia for a long while until Pei Shaoze arrived. Before leaving, she whispered in Su Banxia's ear, "Don't overdo it."
Su Banxia's face instantly turned crimson, and she gritted her teeth as she watched her go.
That gloating woman—she could just strangle her.
Pei Shaoze sat down calmly, taking in her slightly weak appearance, and a faint smile crossed his face.
That night passed peacefully, with Pei Shaoze showing rare restraint.
Su Banxia was almost moved to tears by this turn of events!
But while things were going smoothly on one side, it was a storm on the other.
Gu Feifei sat on the bed, staring at Ren Yuan in disbelief, her heart sinking with tension. "Ren Yuan, why are you back so soon?"
"Why didn't you tell me you were sick?"
Ren Yuan's face was cold, his sharp gaze as if trying to see through her.
"Just a little cold, nothing serious."
Gu Feifei was flustered, her words stumbling.
Ren Yuan's suspicious eyes swept over her. "I asked your attending doctor. She said your condition is quite serious."
Hearing this, Gu Feifei's face turned pale. She was terrified that Ren Yuan might find something out.
"Feifei, I thought you loved me."
Ren Yuan's voice carried a deep sense of loss.
Back then, he'd been bewitched and seduced by this woman, losing his true love in the process.
Catching his implication, Gu Feifei immediately jumped out of bed and wrapped her arms around him from behind. "Ren Yuan, you have to believe me. I really do love you."
"Is that so?"
A cold sneer curled at the corner of Ren Yuan's mouth. He forcefully pried her hands away and strode out of the ward.
There were things he didn't investigate not because he couldn't find out, but because he feared the results would cut deep.
Ren Yuan's departure left Gu Feifei slumped on the hospital bed, her eyes vacant and hollow, unable to think of anything.
"Hurts, doesn't it?"
Lin Haoran stepped out from behind the curtain, a look of deep contempt in his eyes.
He'd only been playing with this woman, never expecting such a big mess to come of it.
Besides, he still didn't believe that child was his.
"Shut up!"
Gu Feifei turned to glare at him, her words sharp. "If you want the Gu family's help, you'd better keep this buried and find out who leaked the information."
"Such a small thing needs investigating? There are only a few people who know about our situation."
Lin Haoran snorted dismissively.
His words struck a chord, and Gu Feifei suddenly understood. Her face flushed red with anger, and her fingers instinctively curled into fists.
How could she have forgotten that Su Banxia was in the middle of it all!
"Bitch!"
Gu Feifei gritted her teeth and hurled everything on the bed to the floor, venting all her fury.
Lin Haoran watched her, frowning slightly. "You'd better rest. I'll wait for you to be discharged so we can join forces."

"Who gave you the right to mention Banxia in front of me? A scumbag like you deserves what you get!"
Fang Shiqing sneered without mercy.
"Enough!"
"Chasing after wealth, thinking you'd be set by latching onto the Gu family's daughter. Why don't you take a good look at yourself in the mirror and see what you're really worth?"
Fang Shiqing scoffed.
