Zhang Yifan's mind was filled with questions, and he was deeply shaken.
He had long known that Shen Yunyun was no ordinary person, but seeing these high-tech items made her seem even more unfathomable.
Perhaps she came from a highly advanced civilization in the future.
Yet the food she took out was no different from what existed before the apocalypse, even the packaging was the same.
Could it be that the space she obtained had belonged to someone else, and that space had stored enough supplies?
His brain capacity was limited, and he truly couldn't figure out the key to it.
In just two or three minutes, they had already landed in the clothing wholesale market of the neighboring city.
"Zhang Yifan, collect whatever supplies you see, fill your space to the brim, and I'll exchange them for food later."
"Alright." Zhang Yifan didn't hesitate and immediately began gathering supplies.
They had to collect supplies while also clearing out zombies.
No one had come to clear the zombies in this city yet, and it was unknown if there were any survivors here.
The zombie in front of them was still wearing a mall work uniform, with a name tag hanging on its chest.
But its face had been gnawed away by zombies, leaving no skin or flesh visible, its head drooping, and maggots occasionally falling from its face. The stench of its body could be smelled even through the glass door.
The zombie had been wandering near the clothing store entrance, but upon hearing the noise, it charged toward Shen Yunyun and Zhang Yifan as if injected with adrenaline.
Ordinary zombies moved slowly during the day, but this one was different—it was fast.
Zhang Yifan immediately used a laser gun to eliminate the zombie.
"This is a speed-type zombie."
"What's a speed-type?"
"It means it's fast. There are also strength-types, which are very strong."
"Zombies are indeed mutating constantly."
Zhang Yifan didn't deny it.
Zombies were indeed mutating all the time, but their current laser guns could still handle them easily.
If they continued to mutate further, he wasn't sure if the laser guns would still be effective.
Thinking about this, he felt a strong sense of crisis.
The two continued collecting supplies until their spaces were completely full. Just as they were about to head back, they suddenly saw a figure dart past them at incredible speed.
Zhang Yifan and Shen Yunyun exchanged a glance, confirming they hadn't imagined it, and quietly moved in that direction.
They passed through a corridor and arrived at the office area.
In front of them was a sturdy security door. Judging by the sign on it, this was the finance office.
Zhang Yifan exchanged another look with Shen Yunyun. She stepped back, and he knocked on the door, asking, "Anyone there?"
There was no sound from inside.
Since there was no noise, it meant there were no zombies inside.
Even if there were people, given the figure they had just seen moving so fast, that person could likely protect themselves.
"Let's go. No one's here," Shen Yunyun said to Zhang Yifan, her voice neither loud nor soft.
She wasn't sure if the people inside could hear her.
"Let's go." Zhang Yifan didn't linger and turned to leave.
Just as they reached the corner of the corridor, the door suddenly creaked open. "Stop."
They stopped and turned to see a man with a face so pale it didn't look human standing at the door.
Shen Yunyun raised an eyebrow at the man.
"Do you have any food?" the man asked directly.
Zhang Yifan tossed two peaches over. The man's eyes widened at the sight of the peaches. He caught them quickly, sniffed them, then turned and threw them into the room.
The room was silent, as if no one was there.
Shen Yunyun felt that there were people inside, and that they had learned to stay quiet under the siege of zombies.
"Who are you?" the man asked again.
