Gu Changye was clearly kicking her out.
Qiao Shiyue had been full of confidence, thinking that if she got leverage over Lin Mengxing, she could threaten Shen Yunyun.
Now her confidence lay shattered.
She had only thought of luring him with benefits, forgetting that Gu Changye had handled the procedures for them. How could he possibly testify? If he testified, wouldn't he be implicating himself?
She really was grasping at straws in her desperation. Such an obvious truth, and she hadn't even thought of it.
She didn't want to admit her own lack of intelligence, but she could very reasonably blame Shen Yunyun for stealing twenty years of her life, denying her a good education.
So a momentary oversight was only natural.
Qiao Shiyue racked her brains in the hotel, but no matter how she thought, she couldn't come up with a way to deal with Shen Yunyun.
She no longer cared about her brothers, nor her parents.
She didn't even want the Qiao family fortune anymore.
What other way did she have to control her?
To control her, she had to use what she cared about, the people she cared about.
After much deliberation, she decided to try approaching Tang Yu.
.
Tang Yu had just turned a corner in his car when he collided with a shared bike.
The rider was a girl in a white dress, with a high ponytail, looking like a high school student.
Tang Yu quickly got out of the car to check on her injuries.
But to his surprise, the girl backed away like a startled rabbit, several steps, and said defensively, "You hit me, don't try to scam me."
Tang Yu was stunned for a moment, then a chuckle rumbled in his chest, lifting his mood.
He hadn't expected there to still be such innocent girls in this day and age.
"Come on, I'll take you to the hospital," Tang Yu said, standing over Qiao Shiyue.
Qiao Shiyue felt a surge of joy—he really hadn't recognized her.
She slowly lifted her head and looked at him timidly.
Tang Yu saw her face clearly and felt like he'd seen her somewhere before.
"Have we met somewhere?"
"Isn't that pickup line a bit too old?" Qiao Shiyue said warily.
"Tch, you're like a little sprout. Don't tell me you think I have ulterior motives?"
Qiao Shiyue pursed her lips and said nothing, her expression looking as if she'd been deeply wronged.
Tang Yu had no desire to argue with a young girl on the street, so he turned back to ask, "Do you need to go to the hospital or not?"
"No," Qiao Shiyue said stubbornly.
Since she didn't need the hospital, Tang Yu had no intention of making a student pay for the car repairs, so he turned to leave.
As he opened the car door to get in, Qiao Shiyue let out a pained hiss.
Tang Yu turned back to look at her, seeing her grimacing in pain, crouched on the ground clutching her ankle.
Her ankle was a bit swollen—probably sprained.
Tang Yu sighed, came back, and bent down to pick her up and put her in the back seat to take her to the hospital.
But then he remembered the girl's strong wariness of him, so he stopped, stood still, and called 120 instead.
He had her taken to the hospital, where after a series of checks, it was confirmed she'd only sprained her ankle, with no bone damage, and no need for hospitalization.
He picked up her medicine and asked, "Where do you live? I'll take you back."
"No need to take me back, I can manage on my own."
"Alright then, just call me if anything comes up." Tang Yu handed her his business card.
Qiao Shiyue was overjoyed inside. He hadn't recognized her, and she'd smoothly gotten his phone number—this was great news.
It brought her one step closer to completing her plan.
