Chapter 29: Chapter 29: She Is Not an Apocalypse Survivor at All

Chen Feng awkwardly withdrew his hand, only then noticing that Shen Yunyun's clothes were very clean and carried the scent of body wash.

"Are you from the base?" Chen Feng asked.

Shen Yunyun didn't answer but instead turned to look at Zhang Yifan.

Chen Feng also looked at Zhang Yifan, who said, "She's not. Let's eat something and rest first, then pick up the crystals."

Chen Feng's eyes dimmed slightly. He glanced at Shen Yunyun again, his gaze filled with hostility.

They sat down against the wall and pulled out compressed biscuits to gnaw on.

By now, Shen Yunyun had also recovered. Catching the stench emanating from the few men, she silently moved to the upwind side.

Zhang Yifan walked up behind her and asked softly, "Why are you here?"

"To bring you supplies."

Zhang Yifan's eyes lit up. Shen Yunyun glanced behind him and said, "That teammate of yours is very hostile toward me."

"He thinks you're from the base."

Shen Yunyun understood. It wasn't hostility toward her personally, but toward the base.

"As long as he's reliable, that's fine. Do you have any thoughts on restoring order?"

Zhang Yifan fell silent.

Thinking back to the scene she had just witnessed, Shen Yunyun felt her expectations might be a bit too high.

In those post-apocalyptic novels, which male or female lead didn't come back to life with a space and endless supplies?

For someone like Zhang Yifan, simply surviving in the apocalypse was already incredibly difficult. Ideals and ambitions were nothing but empty talk.

She quickly added, "I have plenty of supplies and water. You can trade crystals with me."

Zhang Yifan was silent for a moment. "Crystals are worthless to you."

"You know?"

Zhang Yifan nodded.

Last time, he had already figured it out, but she still gave him food and water. He remembered that debt of gratitude.

"They were useless before, but now they have a use. Also, any gold, silver, or jade you collect can be traded with me for supplies."

"But your supplies aren't endless either. Hiding in the basement, you don't know how much longer you can hold out."

Shen Yunyun then realized that Zhang Yifan thought she was just a girl surviving in the apocalypse, hiding in a basement.

"Don't worry, I have plenty of supplies. I have a space, and it's stocked with enough to last me a hundred lifetimes. First, take your people to gather the crystals, then find a rural area where you can settle down and farm. Save whoever you can along the way—they'll become the backbone of restoring production in the future. One person can't accomplish a great mission; it takes thousands of heroes working together."

Zhang Yifan instantly understood her meaning.

"Keep these laser guns for self-defense for now. Let them soak up sunlight during the day to recharge."

Zhang Yifan's eyes lit up as he looked at the laser guns with admiration.

Shen Yunyun added, "Your companion doesn't know you have a space, does he?"

Zhang Yifan shook his head.

"Then come with me."

Zhang Yifan followed Shen Yunyun downstairs.

Chen Feng and the other two exchanged glances.

"Brother Feng, what's the deal between Brother Zhang and that woman?"

Chen Feng shot him a look and said, "Watch your mouth."

The other man immediately shut up.

Shen Yunyun and Zhang Yifan went downstairs. When no one was around, she handed over all the supplies she had prepared for him.

Zhang Yifan, in turn, gave her all the crystals from his space.

"Where do you live? I'll take you back."

"No need, I can go back on my own. You all finish eating and hurry to gather the crystals. Keep those four laser guns for now—use them for self-defense."

"Mm," Zhang Yifan replied. The next moment, Shen Yunyun vanished from his sight.

Zhang Yifan stood there, stunned for a long time. Maybe he had been wrong.

She wasn't from the apocalypse at all.
