"Hmph, protesting too much."
"Young master, I really didn't do it!" A-Guang was on the verge of tears.
Bang!
At that moment, a gunshot rang out.
The basement was too quiet, and even with a silencer, the sound of a bullet piercing flesh was still unmistakable.
"Ah..."
The man who had seemed unafraid of death let out a miserable scream, its desolate echo reverberating through the basement.
Chu Junyu and Nangong Yichen looked over to see the man's legs trembling and his face twisted in agony.
"Does it hurt?" Nangong Yichen withdrew his gun and stared coldly at the man.
The man bared his teeth, his eyes bloodshot with pain. "Kill me! Finish me off with one shot!"
Chu Junyu and Nangong Yichen stared wide-eyed at the bleeding wound. Nangong Yichen's aim was too precise, wasn't it?
Even if he hadn't hit the bird's beak, he'd certainly struck the bird's egg.
"I know you want to die, but I won't let you off that easily." Nangong Yichen exuded a chilling aura.
This man was a subordinate left behind by Mo Ercong. With Mo Ercong dead, he had become the leader. He had set up an ambush at the racetrack, intending to kill Nangong Yehen—both to avenge his boss and to take Nangong Yehen's place as the ruler of T City.
Nangong Yichen wasn't foolish enough to kill him with one shot. He was keeping him alive for a purpose.
At the very least, he could lure the man's brothers here and wipe them out in one go. Wouldn't that be better?
With multiple wounds bleeding, the man's face gradually turned pale.
He glared viciously at Nangong Yichen. "If you don't kill me now, one day I'll make sure the Nangong family has no descendants left!"
"It looks like you're already without descendants now—your eggs are smashed," Chu Junyu said coldly.
"They're only injured, not burst yet," Nangong Yichen corrected. If they had burst, wouldn't the man be dead?
"Same difference."
"I have plenty of brothers outside who will come to rescue me!" the man roared fiercely.
His voice echoed, and Chu Junyu dug at his ear, looking annoyed. "Can you not shout so loud? We're still young and not deaf. You're yelling so loud you want to deafen us? Sigh, this is a basement—my turf. No matter how loud you shout, your brothers won't hear you. Save your energy to live a little longer. Hearing you scream so miserably breaks my heart."
"You two little devils!"
"Should we just let you wipe us out instead?" Nangong Yichen snorted coldly.
When he learned that Nangong Yehen had been ambushed at the racetrack, he was gnashing his teeth in fury.
Chu Junyu checked the time and figured this was enough.
He took the gun back from Nangong Yichen. "Little boss, leave this to A-Guang. Let's head back."
"Don't worry, sirs. I'll make sure to keep a close eye on him," A-Guang said with a bow and a grin, more than happy to do the job for the two young masters.
The two small figures left the basement and walked out of the building.
At the building's entrance, the black sedan was waiting.
They returned to school, where all the other students had already gone home.
They waited at the school gate, and within two minutes, Nangong Yehen's bodyguard car arrived.
Watching the car stop in front of them, Chu Junyu and Nangong Yichen exchanged a glance before getting in.
"Master Yu, Master Chen, sorry for the delay—traffic was heavy," the bodyguard apologized, feeling embarrassed for keeping them waiting.
Chu Junyu smiled politely. "No worries, we didn't wait long." Just two minutes.
Back at the Nangong estate, Nangong Yichen got out of the car and quickly strode into the living room.
Inside, Nangong Yehen was sitting with his long legs crossed, watching international news.
