Chu Lingzhi walked out of the hotel while on the phone with Chu Junyu.
"Sweetie, Mommy took on a patient yesterday with a special condition and stayed by his side to observe him all night. I'm heading back to the company now."
"Did you really take on a patient?" On the other end of the line, the little boy's childish voice carried a hint of doubt.
"Mommy never lies to her sweetie."
"Hmph, liar. You lie to me all the time."

"Alright, Mommy, if you're tired, just go home and rest. Don't go to the company." The little boy's voice was thick with concern.

Looking up, she saw Li Meirong charging toward her, fierce and aggressive, her twisted expression as if she wanted to kill Chu Lingzhi.
Behind her followed Chu Jianjue, Cai Quanjun, Chu Mengling, and Cai Quanjun's assistant.
Chu Lingzhi stood there with a cold smile. She hadn't even gone after them yet, and they were coming for her first?

Chu Lingzhi laughed as if she had just heard the funniest joke, her smile dazzling and her beauty blinding.
"Deliberately injured you? Where did I injure you?"
"Mr. Cai has a big bump on the back of his head," Cai Quanjun's assistant said coldly.
"Did I attack him?" Chu Lingzhi's gaze turned icy as she looked at them. "If I did, then call the police."
Call the police? They wouldn't dare.
"Chu Lingzhi, Mr. Cai genuinely likes you. Don't be ungrateful," Li Meirong said with a mix of anger and sarcasm. "You're living with a bastard. It's good enough that a man wants you! Don't think just because Luo Zifan likes you, you can act all high and mighty. Even if Luo Zifan likes you, so what? The Luo family will never accept you and that bastard."
