Chapter 40: Chapter 40: He Is My Son

The colorful fountain was as beautiful as a rainbow. Nangong Yehen stood straight with his back against the fountain, the sunlight making him look even more handsome.

"Master Nangong, thank you for helping me out earlier," Chu Lingxiu said, smiling at him. Everyone feared this man, but Chu Lingxiu no longer did. She felt he was... quite kind-hearted, after all. At least compared to Li Meirong and Chu Jianjue, he was decent.

"I wasn't helping you out," Nangong Yehen said, his gaze indifferent as he looked at her. Chu Lingxiu smiled, her smile even more dazzling than the colorful fountain.

"Even if you weren't helping me out, there's no need to claim my son as yours. I don't want to be misunderstood." Nangong Yehen was a big shot, and she believed that soon the whole city would be buzzing about her and him.

Nangong Yehen curled his lips. "I told you, if you don't sign the agreement, you'll regret it."

"I don't understand."

"Your son is my son."

"Still don't understand."

"Chu Junyu is my, Nangong Yehen's, biological son. Do you understand now?"

"Master Nangong, are you joking with me?" Chu Lingxiu chuckled. How could her precious child possibly be his son?

"If you don't believe me, you can do a DNA test. You're a medical professional; you should trust the authenticity of DNA."

Chu Lingxiu's smile suddenly froze as she stared at him in disbelief. "Are you serious?"

Nangong Yehen snorted coldly. "I have no reason to joke with you."

"How is that possible..." The woman's face turned pale, and her eyes suddenly widened. "What was the content of the agreement you had me sign?"

Nangong Yehen lifted his chin slightly. "You and your son belong to me."

Chu Lingxiu's head spun. "Master Nangong, how did my son come to be?"

Nangong Yehen smirked. "You gave birth to him, of course."

"What I mean is, how did we meet and then end up having a child?" She had no memory of that at all. She didn't feel in the least that Nangong Yehen was a man she loved. But how else could she explain the sense of rejection and dislike she felt toward him the first time she saw him? No wonder he hadn't bothered her after settling down in T City. It turned out he remembered her, but she just didn't remember him.

Nangong Yehen's exquisitely refined face showed no excess emotion. If he wanted to have a child with someone, he didn't need to go through a relationship—he'd just take her to bed directly.

Chu Lingxiu looked at him in shock, a hint of hope in her eyes. "Master Nangong, did we love each other before?"

Love? The man's brow arched even higher. What was love? To him, love had vanished from his world many years ago. Since then, he had no idea what love was.

"It was you who loved me," the man said, curling his lips. He was a god who could dominate everything, and any woman would love him. Whether it was for his person or his money.

Chu Lingxiu's mouth twitched. Could it be that she loved him so much that she lost all dignity and stripped naked in front of him?

"I don't believe it!" No matter what, she refused to believe that Chu Junyu was his son.

Nangong Yehen glanced at Huo Luan, who immediately pulled a document from the agreement and handed it to her. Chu Lingxiu took it and saw it was a DNA report for Nangong Yehen and Chu Junyu. The data showed they were indeed father and son.

Chu Lingxiu stared blankly at the report in her hands, her mind going blank. Suddenly, she handed the report back to Huo Luan, stepped closer to Nangong Yehen, and wrapped her arms around his waist. Nangong Yehen lowered his eyes, gazing at her deeply, but he didn't reject her embrace.
