Chapter 54: Chapter 54: Not a Gynecologist

The man leaned back in his executive chair and opened a copy of the *Heart Sutra*. Whenever his temper threatened to spiral out of control, he would spend hours reading it to calm his mind.

He Su pushed open the door and was startled by the man’s sudden appearance. “Whoa, bro, you couldn’t have given me a heads-up?”

“This is my turf.” The man didn’t even lift his eyes, lazily turning a page. “I come and go as I please—do I need to notify you?”

The entire hospital was his. Who would dare stop him from coming whenever or however he wanted?

Just couldn’t do it openly…

He Su rolled his eyes so hard they nearly disappeared. He walked over, placed a bottle of pills in front of the man, and perched on the edge of the desk, whistling cheekily. “Guess what poison this is this time?”

Shen Xiaoxing lifted his gaze, glanced indifferently at the bottle, then returned his attention to the book in his hands. Shen Tingfeng had been trying to poison him in all sorts of creative ways for years, and he knew it, yet he still played along.

Seeing his lack of interest, He Su flashed a wicked grin. “A drug that’ll make you incapable of having kids. How about that—pretty creative this time, huh?”

Shen Xiaoxing closed the book with a cold snap, meeting He Su’s amused stare with a face so dark it looked like he wanted to devour someone alive.

“Hey, don’t look at me like that. It’s that bastard who’s sick of living and pulling this crap!”

“Did I say something?”

He Su pursed his lips. *Your silence is scarier than anything you could say—that sinister expression is downright creepy!*

“That scumbag Shen Tingfeng is starting to suspect me.”

The man lit a cigarette, took a deep drag, and exhaled rings of smoke, his eyes deep and unreadable. “This is a game between me and them. If you’re tired of it, I’ll make sure you’re safe and can bow out.”

They’d known each other since youth, classmates abroad. After graduation, Shen Xiaoxing was brought back to the Shen family to be groomed as the heir. His exceptional abilities won the old patriarch’s favor, which stirred up trouble with the second branch of the family, leading to the plane crash two years ago.

Back then, he lost his sight and suffered severe leg injuries that left him unable to stand. The old patriarch, valuing his talent, summoned doctors to treat him, but Shen Yu’s interference only worsened his condition.

He Su had majored in medicine. When he heard about it, he resolutely changed his identity, adopted the alias “He Su,” and ingratiated himself with Shen Tingfeng, who then planted him as a mole beside Shen Xiaoxing.

Shen Xiaoxing had once promised that this war was a personal vendetta between him and the Shen family, no one else’s. If He Su ever wanted to leave, he’d protect him with his life.

“I’ve already waded into this mess. Unless I see that little bastard Shen Tingfeng and his old turtle of a father meet a miserable end, I’m not getting out.”

During those years abroad, Shen Xiaoxing was the only one who treated him well when he was at rock bottom. So when he was in trouble, He Su had to help.

Besides, Shen Tingfeng was a rich fool with more money than sense—He Su had milked him for plenty.

Shen Xiaoxing picked up the bottle of pills, his narrow black eyes narrowing slightly. “Those father and son won’t be strutting around much longer. I’ll humor them a little while longer.”

After a moment’s thought, something occurred to him. He cleared his throat, his tone turning awkward. “Do you… have any of that stuff?”

He Su handed him a glass of water. “What stuff?”

“You know… that thing.”

He Su furrowed his brow in confusion, then his expression suddenly brightened with a sly grin. “Oh, you mean *that*?”

The man grunted reluctantly.

“The convenience store has it. The hospital doesn’t sell it.”

“I’m talking about women’s…” Shen Xiaoxing clenched his fist against his mouth, coughing repeatedly. “Women’s menstrual tonic supplements.”

“…” He Su. “Why would you think I have that here?”

“Aren’t you a doctor?”

He Su took a deep breath, his temper flaring as he fought the urge to curse. “I’m a goddamn surgeon, not a gynecologist!”

The man replied flatly, “I thought you’d know about this stuff.” He smirked. “Guess you’re not that great after all, if you can’t even handle gynecology.”

He Su: *I’m gonna…*

He raised an eyebrow, his gaze dropping to the man’s crotch, and flashed a lecherous grin. “Actually, I just remembered I know a little something. Want me to take a look?”

He reached for the man’s belt, but Shen Xiaoxing shot him a cold glare. “Get the hell away from me!”

He Su dropped the act, brushing off his white coat. “This is for your little wife, isn’t it?”

A while back, An Ruo had been suffering from severe menstrual cramps, even fainting once. The private doctor said her body was too cold and she needed to focus on warming and nourishing it.

Seeing her curled up in pain, he’d actually felt his heart ache…

“I’m at a loss, but that doesn’t mean I can’t ask a gynecologist.”

“Then that’s your mission.” Shen Xiaoxing patted his shoulder with a grave air. “Get back to me soon.”

“…”

At Lanzhen Group.

An Ruo had been spacing out all morning. Jiang Su was out on business, and she’d finished her tasks early. With nothing to do, a sudden impulse struck her to call the man.

*What’s he doing? Is he sitting by the window daydreaming again?*

Just as she was about to dial his number, someone tapped on her desk. She blinked, looked up, and saw Zhou Mingyue, as arrogant as ever.

“What are you staring at? Hurry up and make me some tea—I’m dying of thirst!”

She tossed her LV bag aside, crossed her legs, and plopped down at her own desk.
