Chapter 140: Chapter 140: The Person in the Space

"Oh, okay." Ye Yutian quickly ordered someone to prepare the items and deliver them to her room.

"Don't you find this barren land boring?" Ye Lanshan pushed open the door, enjoying the sunlight on her skin, but when she opened her eyes, all she saw was empty earth, not even a hint of green, and her mood instantly dampened.

"This is just a temporary stop for me. The scenery at my headquarters is quite beautiful. If you're willing to stay with me, I can show you all the world's wonders and let you taste every delicacy." Ye Yutian walked up behind her, speaking sweet words with utmost tenderness.

"Actually, I didn't originally dislike you. Even though you wanted to kill me the first time we met, anyone with strong caution would do the same." Perhaps because of the sunlight, Ye Lanshan's mood lifted slightly, and her attitude toward Ye Yutian softened a bit.

"I'm sorry." Ye Yutian had experienced everything in life. He was always decisive and ruthless, a man of unyielding toughness, yet now he uttered those three words so easily.

"You're also an enemy of the Holy Land, aren't you? God placed such a vicious curse on you, so you must hate the Holy Land to the core. We could join forces." Ye Lanshan raised her hand to catch the falling sunlight, a warm and hopeful force.

"With me here, the Holy Land will surely fall. Rest assured, I won't let anyone harm a single hair on your head." Ye Yutian's tone carried arrogance, confidence, and a hint of tenderness.

"But you must also train hard. You're too weak right now—how can I feel at ease letting you go out?" He shifted the topic back to Ye Lanshan.

"Of course I'll train hard, even without you urging me." Ye Lanshan's voice was cold, as if a bit annoyed.

Ye Yutian seemed not to notice her irritation and continued, "But even if you're weak, it's fine. With me here, I'll help you grow stronger."

No matter how well-mannered Ye Lanshan was, she couldn't help but roll her eyes at him and quickly walked back to her room.

Ye Yutian was completely baffled, unable to figure out what he'd done to upset her.

*Weak? You just haven't seen me at my peak. Back when I was the top genius in the cultivation world, looking down on everyone, who could rival me? If I hadn't somehow ended up in this continent during my training, how could I be this weak?* Ye Lanshan thought bitterly as she walked.

Suddenly, she looked up and stared intently at the sky. It was still blue with white clouds and the sun hanging lazily above. Then she sighed, drooped her head, and returned to her room.

"Ah, this is fate. After all, coming to this continent hasn't been without gains—at least I've gained my closest family and a bunch of lovely companions." Ye Lanshan comforted herself. Though she still didn't know how she'd ended up here, her mindset had calmed down again.

"Miss, excuse me, where should I put these two hundred steamed buns?" Shuang Hong knocked on her door.

"Ah, just leave them at the door." A calm, indifferent voice came from inside the room. It was plain, yet it still made Shuang Hong shiver.

"All of you, withdraw." Ye Lanshan pushed open the door and saw the mountain of steamed buns before her, a faint smile curling at the corners of her mouth.

She waved her hand to dismiss the others, but Shuang Hong didn't leave. She stood there, gritting her teeth, and asked, "Miss, what are you planning to do with so many steamed buns?"

"What I do doesn't seem to concern you, does it?" Ye Lanshan gave her a cold glance. Though her ethereal aura and white robes gave her a celestial air, a subtle chill emanated from her.

Shuang Hong lowered her head but showed no fear toward Ye Lanshan. "The Dark Lord's interest in you is just a passing whim. I suggest you know your place and don't push things too far."

Ye Lanshan raised an eyebrow at this, feeling genuinely wronged. She'd only asked for some food—how was that pushing things too far? Besides, she wasn't counting on Ye Yutian to fall for her; he was the one who claimed to like her.

"I only asked for some food, and this seems to be a matter between me and your master, doesn't it?" The implication was clear: this was a private affair between her and Ye Yutian, and the servants had no right to interfere.

"I've said what I needed to say. If you don't listen and end up angering the Dark Lord, don't expect us to clean up your mess." Shuang Hong had only felt a bit of pity seeing her otherworldly demeanor and wanted to offer advice, but since she wouldn't take it, there was no need to persist.

Shuang Hong turned and strode away angrily, disappearing from sight.

Ye Lanshan watched her go, speechless, and wondered what Ye Yutian had done. From Shuang Hong's words, he seemed to be a fickle man—not just fickle, but utterly heartless.

Unfortunately, Ye Yutian knew nothing of this little drama; otherwise, he would never have sent Shuang Hong to deliver the food.

Inside the space, dozens of people first stared wide-eyed at the unfamiliar surroundings, utterly confused. Then, as they grew slightly more familiar, they cheerfully greeted each other and speculated about Ye Lanshan's intentions.

Everything was fine at first, but after Mu Xinlian was summoned out by Ye Lanshan and forcibly sent back, the entire space fell into worry.

They desperately wanted to go out and help Ye Lanshan, but they couldn't find an exit. Eventually, they found an adorable little boy, who said, "This place is a space. Unless Ye Lanshan summons you out, you can't leave."

"I can't take it anymore." Qiu Yue, pale-faced, clutched her stomach and collapsed to the ground.

"I... I can't either." You Lan lay weakly on the ground, her lips parched as if she'd been without water for ages.

"What do we do?" The other cultivators were fine—they could endure a few days—but these women, who had only recently begun cultivating, couldn't hold out. Without water or food, they wouldn't last much longer.

"What's going on?" Ye Lanshan had just entered the space with food when she found several women lying on the ground.

Yun Di pointed at them and said, "If you hadn't come, these people would have starved to death here."

"The food's here, enough for all of you." Ye Lanshan gestured to the provisions she'd brought.

Sikong Kuang, from a healer's perspective, asked, "Is there any water? We haven't had a drop in days. Food is secondary, but without water, they won't make it."

Ye Lanshan slapped her forehead in embarrassment. "Ah, I forgot about that. Wait for me, I'll be right back." With that, she vanished.
