Su Muyang waited until they finished their conversation before asking, "Oh, right, what did you need me for?"
Ye Lanshan glanced at Fufeng—she too was curious about why Fufeng had sought out the principal.
"Hello, I am the grandson of Futian. My father is Fu Yupeng, one of the few prodigies captured by the Holy Land back then. I was wondering if the words you spoke back then still hold true?" Fufeng stepped forward, his demeanor steady and composed.
Su Muyang studied him carefully, visibly stirred with emotion, and suppressed his voice as he asked, "Is your grandfather still alive?"
Fufeng looked at Ye Lanshan, a hint of silence in his expression.
"As long as I'm here, your grandfather won't die." Ye Lanshan's gaze darkened, and the mere thought of the Holy Land ignited a blazing fury within her.
Su Muyang and Xue Yonghui were stunned by her words. It took them a moment to recover, and they both spoke up anxiously, "Girl, don't do anything rash. Our academy has only produced one genius like you in a thousand years. We don't want you to fall so soon."
"Rash? I've never been rash. I simply want to destroy the Holy Land." Ye Lanshan's lips curled into a smile, her hands clenched tightly into fists.
"The Holy Lord stands above all forces, with countless followers. It's not something you can just destroy on a whim."
It wasn't that Su Muyang was trying to discourage her, but the Holy Land truly held an unshakable position. Over the centuries, many had tried to replace it, but all had failed.
"What about the followers of your academy? Don't you have as many?" Ye Lanshan met Su Muyang's gaze, trying to pull him into her camp.
"The students you've trained were captured by the Holy Lord. I'm sure that must have left a bitter taste in your mouth. And do you really think that if you don't provoke the Holy Land, they won't come after you?" Su Muyang was about to wave his hand dismissively, but Ye Lanshan cut him off.
"Ye Lanshan, you're wrong there. No matter how arrogant the Holy Land gets, they won't dare to provoke our Xuanling Academy." Xue Yonghui spoke calmly, but his gaze toward her had lost some of its warmth.
Ye Lanshan took a deep breath and said nothing. She knew Su Muyang wouldn't be easily swayed, but she wouldn't give up. There was still time, and Xuanling Academy would eventually become her ally.
"Is there anything else you want to say?" Xue Yonghui's eyes turned stern, and the atmosphere grew heavy.
"Since you won't agree, fine. But Fufeng stays here. Regardless, the child is innocent and shouldn't be harmed by the Holy Land." Ye Lanshan glanced at Fufeng and left him there without further discussion.
"Of course. Even if you hadn't said it, we would have found a way to keep him." Su Muyang finally relaxed, his whole demeanor loosening.
"Then I'll take my leave." Ye Lanshan gave them a brief look and bid farewell.
"I'll see you out." Xue Yonghui didn't try to stop her but escorted her to the school gate.
"Don't even think about opposing the Holy Land. That's the domain of the gods. To oppose them is to oppose the gods, and no one can defeat a god. If you truly can't escape, you can always come back. The school will still welcome you." At the gate, Xue Yonghui couldn't help but offer a word of caution.
Ye Lanshan let out a soft laugh. "Have you ever seen a god? How do you know the god there is real? Maybe it's just someone with a high level of cultivation. Don't worry, I'll be fine."
As she spoke, she cast one last deep look at the academy, sensing that she would definitely return here again.
"Ah, how boring." Ye Lanshan lay down on Yanhu's back and slowly made her way toward the Sunset Mountains.
Why was she heading to the Sunset Mountains? Naturally, it was to subdue the demonic creatures. She believed that with their help, conquering the Moon Kingdom at the very least would be promising.
"I didn't expect the fog here to be even thicker than a few days ago." Ye Lanshan was a bit surprised as she entered the Misty Forest.
She cautiously moved forward step by step, shooting fireballs in all directions to disperse the white mist.
"Human, you really are disobedient, coming here again." A clear voice sounded from behind, and Ye Lanshan immediately turned around.
In the white mist, a pair of purple eyes stared intently at her.
"Your eyes are still so beautiful." Ye Lanshan's lips curved into a smile, admiration flickering in her eyes, as if she hadn't noticed the murderous intent surrounding her.
"I wonder if you still remember what I said to you the first time." The clear male voice remained unmoved by her compliment.
"I do. But so what?" Ye Lanshan summoned Devourer and called out the Phoenix at the same time.
Before the demonic creature could say anything, she charged straight at it.
"Phoenix?" Surprise flickered in the purple eyes. It hadn't expected Ye Lanshan to have the ability to contract a Phoenix.
Devourer gleamed coldly as it slashed toward its neck, but the creature remained unfazed, leaning back slightly to dodge the attack.
Yet that very lean played right into Ye Lanshan's trap.
Sure enough, a triumphant smile crossed Ye Lanshan's eyes as she slapped a immobilization talisman onto it.
"Since we're old acquaintances, there's no need to fight every time we meet. Why not sit down and talk?" Ye Lanshan pushed it to the ground and sat down herself.
Upon seeing the talisman up close, the demonic creature stated with certainty, "You're from the Spirit Clan? No wonder you have an ancient divine weapon and know I'm not from this continent."
"The Spirit Clan? I've never heard of that race." Ye Lanshan closed her eyes, lost in thought.
But she quickly opened them again, patting the creature's arm with keen interest. "Can you tell me the story of the Spirit Clan?"
"Why should I tell you?" The creature's eyes radiated chilling cold.
"If you don't want to, then forget it." Her voice was laced with disappointment.
It tugged at the creature's heart, stirring a hint of reluctance. It thought, since she was going to die anyway, granting her wish before her death wouldn't hurt.
But before it could move, another talisman was slapped onto it.
"Did you think I only brought one talisman?" Ye Lanshan's eyes were bright, showing no trace of sadness.
"You—" The creature was furious and began to struggle violently. Panicking, Ye Lanshan quickly pulled out two more immobilization talismans and pressed them on—her last ones.
"Let's talk things out nicely. No need to get worked up." Ye Lanshan, on a whim, touched its tail.
That only made the creature struggle even harder, though the white fog hid its flushed face from her view.
"If I can heal all your wounds, will you help me with something?" Seeing its intensified struggle, Ye Lanshan blurted out in desperation.
Hearing this, the creature stopped moving. Its voice softened as it asked, "Can you really heal my wounds?"
