Chapter 54: Chapter 54: Interrogation

Ye Luotian knew that because of his neglect over the years, Ye Lanshan had become independent too early, now unwilling to tell him anything. But since he had decided to make up for everything he owed her all these years, he naturally couldn't just let this matter slide.

"I'll go to the dungeon with you. When it comes to interrogation, I'm pretty good at it." Ye Luotian patted Ye Lanshan on the shoulder, picked up the man on the ground, and headed toward the dungeon.

Ye Lanshan actually didn't want her grandfather to get involved in this. After all, the relationship between the Sun family and the Ye family wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible either, and the Sun family was quite powerful. If her grandfather found out that someone from the Sun family had tried to assassinate her, he would definitely go confront them, and her plan would be ruined.

"Give it up. I'm not saying a word." The man, having endured a round of torture, remained stubborn.

"I don't believe it. I've interrogated so many people, and I can't break you? Bring me the whip." Ye Luotian took the whip from the servant and lashed it down, but the man didn't even grunt, as if the whip wasn't hitting him at all. His contemptuous gaze seemed to say, "You'll never get anything out of me."

Just as Ye Luotian was about to strike again, Ye Lanshan stopped him. "Grandfather, beating him like this is useless. Let me handle it."

The man expected another round of brutal torture, but instead, Ye Lanshan released him and locked him in a quieter place. He couldn't figure out what she was thinking.

"Why did you let him go?" Not just the man, but even Ye Luotian was baffled by Ye Lanshan's actions.

"Just leave him locked up here for now. I have other things to do. There's no point wasting time on a dead man walking." Ye Lanshan's expression was cold, clearly uninterested in interrogating him.

No matter how hard the man racked his brain, he couldn't have guessed that Ye Lanshan had suddenly let him off because she realized that if she wanted to build her own power, a torture chamber was essential, and she needed to train an interrogation expert. So now, the man sitting dumbfounded in the dungeon had no idea he had become a test subject for honing someone's interrogation skills.

"Can I go see the others at the intelligence agency today?" Chu He cautiously looked at Ye Lanshan, who was in a low mood.

Ye Lanshan snapped back to reality. "Not yet. First, I'll take you to do something interesting."

"What is it?" Chu He shivered at her eerie smile.

"Just follow me." Ye Lanshan got up and led Chu He to the dungeon.

"Hey, why are you bringing me here?" Chu He asked, puzzled by the gloomy atmosphere of the dungeon.

Ye Lanshan said softly, "I'm going to teach you something."

"What can you teach me in a place like this? You're not planning to train me to withstand beatings, are you?" Chu He eyed her warily. He knew that intelligence agents held the most secrets, and if captured, they'd likely spill everything under torture. That's why many agents were trained to endure pain. Chu He swallowed nervously, thinking, *I agreed to join the intelligence agency, but is it too soon to start with endurance training?*

Ye Lanshan found his trembling amusing. "I just want to teach you how to interrogate prisoners. What are you afraid of?"

Chu He breathed a sigh of relief, wiping the cold sweat from his forehead. "Why didn't you say so earlier? You scared me to death."

"If you want to practice endurance, that's also an option," Ye Lanshan added.

"No, no, let's just go interrogate that prisoner you mentioned." Chu He waved his hands frantically, afraid she might actually decide to train him.

"Let's go. It's up ahead." Ye Lanshan strode forward, with Chu He cautiously following behind.

"Had enough rest?" Ye Lanshan kicked the man, who had fallen asleep.

The man woke up weakly. "I told you, you won't get anything out of me."

Ye Lanshan shrugged without a word and signaled Chu Feng to help lift the man up.

"Don't worry, I won't beat you like others do. That's too crude for me." Ye Lanshan took some honey she had stored from her past life and smeared it on the man's soles.

"What are you doing?" Chu He was baffled by her actions.

Ye Lanshan raised her hand and ordered, "You'll see. Someone, bring in the goat."

"Yes." Soon, a servant led in a medium-sized male goat.

"What do you need a goat for?" Chu Feng was even more confused.

But Ye Lanshan didn't answer. She just brought the goat to the man's feet.

As soon as the goat smelled the sweet honey, it bleated excitedly and eagerly began licking the man's soles.

Then Ye Lanshan explained to Chu Feng, "Goats love honey, and the soles of the feet are very sensitive. When the goat licks them, it tickles unbearably, making it impossible to stop laughing."

"Hahaha, even, hahaha, if it's like this, hahaha, I still, hahaha, won't say a word, hahaha..." The man tried to control his laughter, but it was impossible. Eventually, he was laughing so hard he could barely breathe.

But even after the skin on his soles was licked raw, he still said nothing.

"Hmph, you asked for it. Take the goat away." Ye Lanshan handed the goat to a servant and fed the man a pill.

"Cough, what did you give me?" The man suddenly panicked.

"After enduring so much torture, why are you afraid of a tiny pill? Don't worry, it's just to keep you alive." Ye Lanshan found his reaction odd but didn't dwell on it.

Sure enough, the man perked up after taking it. But Chu Feng didn't understand her reasoning. "Why did you give the prisoner a pill?"

"If he dies now, where am I going to find such a good test subject?" Ye Lanshan made a rare joke.

"Watch closely. If the prisoner survives the tickling torture, you can try another method: noise interference."

Ye Lanshan called two servants and had them take turns ringing bells nonstop.

"Alright, let's go. We'll come back tomorrow." After finishing, Ye Lanshan left with Chu Feng.
