"I came here to visit relatives, and running into Miss Bai is my greatest luck!" Feng Zi said with a smile.
Bai Tang curled her lips, grinning roguishly. "How do you know meeting me is luck and not a disaster?"
Feng Zi paused, then laughed. "Miss Bai has quite a sense of humor!"
Bai Tang smiled but said nothing.
"Since Miss Bai has finished eating, let's go!" Feng Zi stood up, gallantly reaching out to take Bai Tang's hand, but unexpectedly, as she rose, her chair slammed directly into his knee.
Feng Zi gasped in pain.
Bai Tang stood nearby, watching him, and said with a smile, "See, I told you it was a disaster!"
Feng Zi forced a smile. "Miss Bai is joking. It was just an accident. Let's go!"
The two walked out of the restaurant one after the other. As soon as they stepped out, a car pulled up directly outside.
They both stopped, their gazes fixed on the opening car door.
When Bai Tang saw who it was, the corners of her mouth involuntarily lifted.
Perfect timing!
Feng Zi spotted the man and slowly smirked, speaking with an ambiguous tone. "Mr. Sheng, I didn't expect to see you again so soon!"
Sheng Qi didn't look at him; instead, his gaze landed directly on the girl beside him, who was staring at him with sparkling eyes.
His eyes swept over her like a radar, scanning to make sure she was fine before the tension in him eased.
"Mr. Sheng, I'm really sorry. I had planned to invite you to dinner tonight, but it's not convenient for me now. How about tomorrow?" Feng Zi said with a smile, his demeanor perfectly polite and gentlemanly.
Only then did Sheng Qi cast a cold glance at Feng Zi. Compared to Feng Zi's current smile, his entire demeanor was icy and distant.
"Since Mr. Feng has matters to attend to, we won't intrude," Sheng Qi said coolly.
Not "I," but "we."
Those two words made Feng Zi's expression darken slightly. Before he could respond, Sheng Qi directly addressed Bai Tang. "You have class tomorrow. Let's go, I'll take you back. From now on, don't act like an idiot and go out with just anyone. What if you run into a lunatic?"
Bai Tang: "..."
Impressive, my beauty!
Insulting someone as a lunatic so indirectly—that mouth of his makes me want to give him a kiss!
Feng Zi could clearly hear Sheng Qi insulting him. His expression didn't change, but his hand in his pocket clenched into a fist.
Throughout the day, Sheng Qi's attitude toward him and the cheerful girl beside him constantly throwing jabs—the more Feng Zi looked at the two of them, the more he wanted to beat them both up!
"Mr. Sheng, this is my companion. Isn't it a bit inappropriate for you to take her away halfway?" Feng Zi said, his tone carrying a hint of forcefulness.
Sheng Qi ignored him and instead looked at Bai Tang, as if leaving the decision to her.
Meeting Sheng Qi's cold gaze, Bai Tang couldn't help but marvel that even when coming to her rescue, this man remained so aloof.
Looking at him, a glint of mischief flickered in Bai Tang's eyes.
Taking a step closer to Sheng Qi, Bai Tang opened her arms and wrapped them around his waist.
This waist... this chance to cop a feel... tsk tsk tsk...
Sheng Qi: "..."
The girl looked up at him, her eyes full of smiles, a mischievous grin on her lips. "Beauty, he's talking nonsense. I'm not his companion—I'm yours!"
Sheng Qi's face remained cold as he wanted to pull her off and toss her aside, but feeling Feng Zi's icy stare, he kept his hands still, meeting Feng Zi's gaze expressionlessly.
"Mr. Feng, next time you lie, at least coordinate your story with the other person first."
