Chu'er looked at him with a resentful gaze. "Sister-in-law, weren't we just getting along so well a moment ago? Shouldn't we be sticking together through thick and thin? Is it really okay for you to abandon me like this?"
"What are you standing around for?" Sheng Qi warned him with a dangerous look in his eyes.
Chu'er felt wronged as he turned around, only to find himself alone.
Chu'er: "..."
Where was the brotherly loyalty they'd promised? Damn, they didn't even call him to run off! And he'd even planned to give each of them a burial plot last time!
Once the others had left, Sheng Qi's gaze finally fell on the person running laps. Watching Bai Tang run with such ease, Sheng Qi swallowed back the words he'd intended to say about letting her rest.
After ten laps, Bai Tang was thoroughly exhausted. Reaching the finish line, she lunged straight at Sheng Qi, panting. "Beauty, catch me!"
As she came at him, Sheng Qi sidestepped to dodge. Bai Tang couldn't steady herself and fell flat on the ground.
Looking at the person sprawled on the ground, a faint, barely perceptible smile tugged at the corner of Sheng Qi's mouth before quickly vanishing.
Bai Tang was too tired to get up. She turned her head to glare at Sheng Qi, about to curse, but then switched to a pitiful, coaxing tone. "Beauty, it hurts..."
Watching the drama queen, Sheng Qi said calmly, "Good, it should hurt. Will you still hug me next time?"
Bai Tang: "..."
"Yes!"
Sheng Qi snorted lightly. "Get up. Go back and keep working on the test papers."
"I can't get up. I need a kiss from Beauty to make it better!"
The girl tilted her head back, her red lips slightly pouted, her eyes gently closed. Her long lashes rested over her eyelids, casting a lovely shadow.
Sheng Qi stared for a few seconds, then quickly averted his gaze, turned, and strode away. "Follow me!"
Bai Tang took a deep breath, her mouth twitching hard. She'd flirted this much, and he still gave no reaction!
She scrambled up from the ground, her elbow stinging a bit. She lifted it to check.
Damn! She'd actually scraped the skin!
Suddenly struck by an idea, Bai Tang's eyes lit up, and she quickly chased after Sheng Qi. "Beauty, your Tangtang is hurt..."
Hearing the girl's excited, eager voice, Sheng Qi calmly ignored her, assuming she was just putting on another act.
Soon, Bai Tang caught up to Sheng Qi and blocked his path, panting and thrilled. Her beautiful eyes sparkled even brighter in that moment.
Sheng Qi asked flatly, "What is it?"
Bai Tang raised her hand, showing him the spot on her right elbow. "Beauty, Tangtang is hurt!"
The fair skin of her elbow was scraped, with faint traces of blood making it look somewhat serious.
Sheng Qi frowned instinctively.
"I'm hurt!" Bai Tang couldn't help reminding him again.
Sheng Qi suppressed the faint glint in his eyes and responded with a nonchalant "Mm," indicating he'd seen it.
"Your delicate Tangtang—she's hurt!" Bai Tang emphasized. "Bleeding and scraped!"
Sheng Qi looked up at her excited, expectant gaze and said calmly, "Go to the infirmary and have someone bandage it for you."
Bai Tang: "..."
Hmph, men!
"Beauty, your Tangtang got hurt because of you just now!" Bai Tang said resentfully.
Sheng Qi stared at her, the anger that had been on the tip of his tongue suddenly fading away.
"Come on, I'll bandage it for you," Sheng Qi said, softening his tone.
Bai Tang grinned, seizing the chance to take advantage.
Sheng Qi hadn't expected her to make such a move. He was half a second slow, and suddenly found someone in his arms.
Sheng Qi: "..."
"Do you want the other hand to get hurt too?" Sheng Qi said coldly. "I don't mind helping you with that."
