Zhou Jiami stepped out and ran into the dean of discipline on patrol. She had planned to skip class but had no choice but to hurry back to the classroom.
Back in the classroom, she instinctively glanced at Bai Tang's seat, surprised to see her sitting there quietly.
Recently, Bai Tang's attendance rate had been unexpectedly high.
She had never seen Bai Tang in morning self-study before.
Looking at Bai Tang's arm in a sling, Zhou Jiami grew even more curious—attending school with an injury... was she going for an inspirational image?
Suddenly, Bai Tang lifted her gaze and looked directly at her. Zhou Jiami panicked and quickly averted her eyes.
She hurried to her seat, feeling a bit nervous.
What was wrong with her brain? Why was she staring at her?
Her deskmate looked at her curiously. "What's wrong with you?"
Zhou Jiami's expression was a bit strained. "Nothing."
Bai Tang withdrew her gaze from Zhou Jiami and quietly focused on the Chinese textbook in front of her, unable to suppress a smile.
She seemed to have scared someone!

After finishing his business, Bai Wu went to the supermarket to buy ingredients and headed home to cook, planning to deliver the meal to Bai Tang at school.
But as soon as his car reached the villa's entrance, he saw the same black vehicle from that morning parked there.
Bai Wu calmly got out of the car and retrieved the groceries from the trunk.
Sheng Qi opened the car door and stepped out, his gaze sweeping over the ingredients in Bai Wu's hands, his heart sinking.
Bai Wu looked at him and asked coldly, "Something wrong?"
"The head of the Bai family, now running here to be a nanny for someone else, experiencing life?" Sheng Qi stared at him, a dangerous glint in his eyes.
Bai Wu paused slightly, meeting Sheng Qi's icy gaze. "Is there a problem?"
"What's your purpose in getting close to Bai Tang?" Sheng Qi demanded coldly.
"None of your business."
"Anything involving her is my business!" Sheng Qi said coldly.
Bai Wu snorted lightly. "Is that so? Then I'd like to ask, on what grounds are you discussing this with me?"
Sheng Qi stared at him without answering.
Bai Wu looked at him and broke into a smile. "Xiao Bai said she's pursuing you and told me not to make you angry, or it would be hard for her to win you over..."
"Originally, I thought Xiao Bai didn't have many friends, and since she's finally interested in someone, I figured I'd let her do as she pleases and have her fun. But the premise is that her feelings shouldn't be a reason for you to treat her with reckless indifference!"
Bai Wu's smile gradually turned cold. "Since you're so displeased with her, why are you interfering in her life now? What's your game?"
"What happens between her and me is none of your business!" Sheng Qi's eyes narrowed dangerously. "What's your purpose in getting close to her?"
"Bodyguard, or you could say nanny—in short, someone who takes care of her!" Bai Wu said calmly. "You've got your answer, Mr. Sheng. Please leave."
Bai Wu wasn't one to argue with others; he preferred to keep things simple.
The reason he had said so much to Sheng Qi was solely because of Bai Tang.
Clearly, he knew Sheng Qi felt the same.
Sheng Qi stared coldly at Bai Wu, noticing that he had already suppressed his killing intent. Clearly, the other party didn't want to continue the conversation.
But Sheng Qi understood that Bai Wu's presence here couldn't be simple.
As busy as the head of the Bai family was, why would he show up here to act as a bodyguard and life nanny for a girl?
Bodyguard...
Watching Bai Wu open the villa door, Sheng Qi said coldly, "I think your relationship with Bai Tang is far more than just this so-called friend-and-bodyguard dynamic."
Bai Wu's hand on the doorknob froze for a moment...
