Zhang Xiaochu left the airport and drove straight to the club.
He knocked and entered the office. Sheng Qi, seeing him alone, frowned. "Where is she?"
"She took the day off today."
Zhang Xiaochu walked over and sat down, then added, "She asked me to tell you that she has some matters to deal with in the coming days, so she might not be able to come for a while."
Sheng Qi looked up at him, his brow furrowing. "What matters?"
Zhang Xiaochu hadn't thought much about Bai Tang's situation at first, but now, with Sheng Qi's chilling gaze fixed on him, he felt an inexplicable unease creeping into his heart.
"She said it's family stuff she needs to handle, but she didn't go into detail about what it is."
Zhang Xiaochu nervously swallowed a mouthful of saliva before continuing, "She'll be back in a few days. If you're worried, you can call her later."
Sheng Qi just stared coldly at Zhang Xiaochu, making his scalp tingle.
Feeling the death glare from the big shot, Zhang Xiaochu realized coming here was a mistake!
He should have let Bai Tang call Sheng Qi herself.
Then he wouldn't have to endure such a terrifying look.
"Do your homework!" Sheng Qi said coldly.
Zhang Xiaochu breathed a sigh of relief and quickly pulled out his test papers to work on.
But he could feel that chilling gaze still fixed on him, so much so that he stared at one problem for ages without moving.
After a long while, the gaze finally shifted away. Zhang Xiaochu exhaled, and only when he heard the door close did he fully relax.
Thinking back to Sheng Qi's look just now, Zhang Xiaochu felt he should warn Bai Tang.
Picking up his phone, Zhang Xiaochu sent Bai Tang a message: "The big shot is really mad. Watch yourself!"
He hoped she'd get it as soon as she landed.
Putting his phone away, Zhang Xiaochu started working on his problems, unable to help but sigh.
How could he, the flashy, domineering school bully, ever have imagined that one day he'd be sitting here obediently grinding through problems, preparing for the college entrance exam?!
Times had changed!
Shaking off those thoughts, Zhang Xiaochu focused on his work.
A group of people training on the field saw Sheng Qi approaching with a cold face and felt an inexplicable dread.
Though Sheng Qi always had a cold expression, they could still read his mood shifts.
Right now, for instance, he was clearly in a state where he wanted to punch anyone who crossed him.
The group quickly scrambled to get into their cars on the track. Just as Chu Yi was about to get in, Sheng Qi called out coldly, "Chu Yi, come here!"
"Boss, what's up?" Chu Yi asked cautiously.
"How's that thing I asked you to look into?" Sheng Qi asked coldly.
"Which thing, boss?" Chu Yi inquired.
"Bai Tang!" Sheng Qi stared at him coldly, clearly displeased with Chu Yi's question.
"Boss, no news from that side yet. Might need a few more days," Chu Yi said nervously.
Sheng Qi glared at him darkly. "Go check Bai Tang's current itinerary, and Bai Chengfeng's side too!"
"You'd better move fast!"
With that, Sheng Qi left.
Chu Yi shivered. Today's boss was seriously ruthless!

In the dead of night, with everyone gone from the club, Sheng Qi took out his phone and called Bai Tang.
Zhang Xiaochu had said she went to City B, a two-and-a-half-hour flight. It was already ten o'clock now, so by normal schedule, she should have arrived nearly an hour ago.
Yet, she hadn't called him at all, as if she'd completely forgotten about him.
Sheng Qi couldn't hold back any longer.
He dialed the number and put the phone to his ear, waiting for her to pick up.
