Zhang Xiaochu chuckled. "Got it!"
He accelerated, and beside him, Si Rui did the same.
The two cars were neck and neck.
Everyone's eyes were glued to the screen, faces tense and excited.
No one had expected Zhang Xiaochu to catch up to Si Rui's car. Just minutes ago, almost everyone thought the race's outcome was sealed, but they never imagined Zhang Xiaochu could pull even with Si Rui.
As the two cars reached the curve together, everyone's hearts leaped into their throats.
Chu Yi grinned and spoke up. "Boss, do you think Zhang Xiaochu can overtake on this turn?"
Sheng Qi stared at the screen, watching the two cars head into the curve without any sign of slowing down.
"Playing it like this, are they trying to force each other off the road on the turn?" Chu Yi teased with a laugh.
"One of them will always value their life more," Sheng Qi said flatly.
Chu Yi paused, glanced at Sheng Qi, and was about to speak when the crowd's gasps drew his attention back to the screen.
On the screen, the two cars refused to yield, neither losing speed.
Zhang Xiaochu's hands gripped the steering wheel tightly. This turn was sharp, and if both cars took it together, friction was almost inevitable.
A scratched car was minor, but if the body lost balance, it could lead to a serious accident.
Under the mounting tension, Zhang Xiaochu weighed the pros and cons and considered slowing down.
Bai Tang seemed to read his mind and said directly, "Accelerate!"
In an instant, Zhang Xiaochu abandoned his plan and pressed harder on the pedal.
The two cars reached the curve simultaneously. Bai Tang glanced sideways at the other vehicle and then said, "Turn, ninety degrees!"
Zhang Xiaochu had no time to question it; he followed Bai Tang's instructions without slowing, turning the wheel directly.
With both cars passing through together, any mistake in the turning speed could easily cause a collision and lead to an accident.
As Zhang Xiaochu turned, he didn't decelerate, which inevitably threw off the car's balance.
He gripped the steering wheel tightly, a cold sweat beading on his forehead.
The tires screeched against the ground, the harsh sound grating on everyone's nerves.
Zhang Xiaochu's car was on the inside lane. During the turn, the inner tires nearly scraped against the edge of the stone barrier, the rear bumper grinding against the wall, sending sparks flying and denting the body.
The whole scene was thrilling and intense.
As the front of the car swung around, it collided directly with Si Rui's vehicle, which was also turning.
"Hold the wheel steady, accelerate!" Bai Tang said calmly.
The girl's cool voice carried a strange, soothing quality.
Zhang Xiaochu quickly steadied himself and sped up, while at the same time, Si Rui beside him slowed down and swerved to avoid their car.
After a perilous pass through the curve, Zhang Xiaochu's car shot ahead of Si Rui's and drove off.
Securing the lead, Zhang Xiaochu was still shaken.
"How did you know he would slow down?" Zhang Xiaochu swallowed nervously.
Bai Tang smirked, unconcerned. "I didn't!"
"Then why did you keep telling me to accelerate?" Zhang Xiaochu felt like he'd been set up.
Bai Tang grinned roguishly. "It's all about the thrill. How about it? Feel your heart racing?"
Zhang Xiaochu: "..."
My heart feels like it's about to explode, okay?
"At least we got ahead," Zhang Xiaochu sighed in relief.
Bai Tang curled her lips, a sly look in her eyes. "Don't celebrate too soon. Your car's got issues, and the race isn't over yet."
