"Hurry up and come down. I'll take you to breakfast." Zhang Xiaochu changed the subject.
Bai Tang hung up the phone, washed up, and went downstairs.
Bai Chengfeng and the other two were eating at the table. When they saw her come down, Bai Chengfeng said coldly, "Take all your things and leave today. From now on, don't you dare set foot here again!"
Bai Tang curled her lips, a chilling smile spreading across her face. "You might be mistaken. This villa is mine!"
"You—"
"I'm not wrong. Do you want to check the name on the property deed?" Bai Tang said with a smile.
Without another word to Bai Chengfeng, she walked straight out.
Bai Chengfeng stared coldly at Bai Tang's retreating figure, his expression grim.
Because she was right—the house was indeed Bai Tang's!
When Bai Tang turned one, it had been a gift from her parents.
Bai Xi'er and Zhao Chengfang's faces darkened.
"Dad, is that true?" Bai Xi'er asked reluctantly.
Bai Chengfeng said nothing, but his face was sour.
Bai Tang stepped outside and spotted the car parked not far away.
The two went to breakfast. Watching her eat without any pickiness, Zhang Xiaochu smiled and said, "You're so easy to take care of."
Bai Tang found it amusing. "Have you thought about what I said?"
Zhang Xiaochu shook his head. "I'd never hit you. You're my woman—I'll love you!"

The breakfast she'd just eaten made her feel a bit nauseous.
Bai Tang gave up continuing that topic with him.
Zhang Xiaochu personally escorted her to the classroom and even warned the entire class: "From now on, Bai Tang is under my protection. Anyone who dares to bully her, watch your step!"
Bai Tang watched the cringey teenage boy and twitched her mouth hard.
"Get back to your own class right now."
Zhang Xiaochu instantly dropped his tough-guy act, becoming unusually obedient as he nodded to Bai Tang. "Focus in class. We'll have lunch together at noon."
Bai Tang couldn't be bothered with him, turning her gaze away to pull out a book and read.
Zhang Xiaochu shot a warning look at everyone before leaving.
Once he was gone, the others' glances at Bai Tang shifted noticeably.
Bai Tang ignored their stares and quietly read her book.

After school that afternoon, Bai Tang slipped away quickly to avoid that cringey teen Zhang Xiaochu finding her.
As she reached the school gate and was about to hail a taxi, her eyes caught a familiar figure not far away. Bai Tang smiled.
What a coincidence!
As if sensing her gaze, the person turned and looked at her.
When he saw her, he instinctively frowned.
Bai Tang, however, gave him a sweet smile.
He immediately looked away.
Bai Tang raised an eyebrow. So she was being dismissed.

Bai Tang reached out and left.
Chu Yi parked the car and came in, noticing Sheng Qi staring out the window. Curious, he looked over—nothing there.
"Boss, what are you looking at?"
Sheng Qi turned back, his expression blank. "Nothing."
Chu Yi glanced at that direction again. Definitely nothing!
"How's the thing I asked you to handle?" Sheng Qi inquired.
Chu Yi snapped back to attention and quickly handed a folder to Sheng Qi.
After reading it, Sheng Qi picked out two pages and gave them to Chu Yi. "Contact these two. See if they're interested in joining the team."
Chu Yi took the documents and asked with a grin, "Boss, are you sure you don't want Bai Tang?"
Sheng Qi pressed his lips together, saying nothing, but his gaze drifted back to the spot outside the window.
After a long pause, Sheng Qi spoke. "Go handle your business."
Chu Yi stood to leave, but Sheng Qi called out again, "Give me her phone number."
Chu Yi paused, then realized who he meant.
"Boss, are you being two-faced?" Chu Yi said with a sly grin.
