Little Snorlax remembered its friend Eevee, thinking it was special mainly because this Eevee could evolve, but would revert back after evolving.
Once, Little Snorlax saw Eevee evolve at night, turning into a black Pokémon. At the time, Little Snorlax didn’t know what form that was; it just assumed Eevee had evolved and planned to congratulate it the next day. But when it found Eevee the next day, it was still its original form, not evolved at all. This made Little Snorlax think it had been seeing things the night before, maybe even dreaming.
Another day, in broad daylight, Eevee evolved again. Luckily, both of them were in the forest at the time, unseen by other Pokémon or humans. Little Snorlax was thrilled for Eevee’s evolution, but not long after, the evolved Eevee reverted back to its original form. Seeing this, Little Snorlax’s tiny head got all confused—it was the first time it had ever seen a Pokémon evolve and then devolve. So it hurried over to ask Eevee what was going on. Eevee said it didn’t know either, only that every time it evolved into a form, it would revert after a while. But each evolution made it feel significantly stronger, and it could learn many new moves, gradually growing more powerful—it just didn’t understand why it devolved. Fortunately, after that, Eevee stopped evolving, and Little Snorlax gradually forgot about it.
If not for its trainer asking today, and being so happy itself, it might have almost forgotten it had such a friend. So Little Snorlax quickly lifted its head, brimming with excitement, and told Wen Qi all about it.
Soon, after hearing Little Snorlax’s story, Wen Qi’s eyes lit up, thinking to himself, *Could this be the legendary Arceus*Eevee?* *PS: In a void of nothingness, Arceus sneezed, opened its sleepy eyes, and looked around in confusion: “Someone thinking of me again?” After glancing around and seeing nothing, it went back to sleep.*
Though Wen Qi wasn’t certain, he was still incredibly excited, and quickly said to Little Snorlax: “Little one, where’s your good friend? Bring it over for me to see. If it’s really as you say, I’ll take it too, so you two can keep playing together from now on.”
Hearing its trainer’s words, Little Snorlax was overjoyed, thinking it could still be with its friend. It dashed off on its short legs to find Eevee. Wen Qi didn’t follow, trusting that Little Snorlax would bring Eevee back quickly.
At that moment, Eevee was on the grass with a group of its kind, earnestly showing off its cuteness and liveliness to passing humans. They hopped and bounced, their eyes full of hope, wishing to be chosen and taken away by humans. Eevee’s gaze was filled with longing; it kept rubbing against the legs of children, desperately trying to please them. But the older kids, as soon as they saw the badge on it indicating orange-tier quality, quickly lost interest and turned to look at other Eevees with better stats. Every time, Eevee approached humans with hope, only to leave disappointed.
This time seemed no different. Just when a human showed some interest in it, Eevee wagged its tail excitedly and circled around them joyfully. But in the end, that person chose another Eevee with higher quality. Eevee’s eyes instantly dimmed, its head drooping as it stood there dejectedly, filled with loss and frustration. It watched its companions being happily taken away by humans one by one, while it remained stuck in place, a wave of loneliness and helplessness washing over it. It felt as if the world had forgotten it, as if no one wanted to give it a warm home.
Just as Eevee was sinking into deep self-doubt, feeling utterly hopeless, it heard a familiar rustling sound. Without lifting its head, Eevee knew it was its good friend Little Snorlax coming. It had experienced this scene so many times that just from the slight vibration of the ground and that unique sound, it could accurately tell it was Little Snorlax. Eevee’s mood lifted a little—after all, in this lonely place, having a friend like Little Snorlax brought a bit of warmth and comfort. It quietly waited for Little Snorlax to approach, hoping that this time, its arrival might bring some change to its fate.
Little Snorlax trotted over on its short, stout legs, full of excitement. Seeing Eevee’s downcast look, it didn’t say a word, just opened its arms and suddenly scooped Eevee up. This unexpected move left the surrounding Eevees and humans stunned. The other Eevees’ eyes went wide, their mouths forming an “O” shape, completely taken aback by how direct and rough Little Snorlax was. The humans were frozen too, their hands stopping mid-air, faces full of shock. Eevee, held in its arms, looked utterly bewildered, having no idea what Little Snorlax was up to. It blinked, staring at Little Snorlax in confusion, but knowing deep down that Little Snorlax was its good friend and would never hurt it, it didn’t struggle or resist, letting itself be carried obediently.
Little Snorlax held Eevee and dashed firmly toward Wen Qi’s direction. Its round body bounced with each step, but its speed didn’t slow at all. Soon, Little Snorlax and Eevee disappeared from the sight of those humans and Eevees. After a brief moment of surprise, the humans and Eevees quickly returned to normal. After all, the pair of Little Snorlax and Eevee was nothing new around here. Most Pokémon here were sold within three months at most, but these two “old-timers”—Little Snorlax and Eevee—hadn’t been bought for over half a year, becoming well-known figures to everyone. Whether it was other Pokémon or the humans who frequented this place, they were all familiar with their situation. Some Eevees shook their heads and went back to charming humans, thinking to themselves that they couldn’t end up unwanted like that Eevee. The humans just chuckled and continued picking their preferred Pokémon, as if Little Snorlax and Eevee’s departure was just a minor episode, quickly forgotten.
Before long, Little Snorlax carried Eevee back to Wen Qi like a gust of wind. When this Eevee appeared before Wen Qi, he immediately activated the system to check it. As soon as the results came out, Wen Qi was both surprised and delighted—this Eevee was far more special and precious than he had imagined. Before Eevee could react, Wen Qi scooped it up, grabbed Little Snorlax, and hurried off to find an employee.
It was the same employee as before. Seeing Wen Qi return with Eevee, another “old-timer” from the park, a hint of surprise crossed his face. Wen Qi didn’t waste words and directly stated he wanted to buy this Eevee. Though surprised, the employee quickly processed the paperwork. With another smooth operation, a “beep” sounded, and 200,000 was deducted from Wen Qi’s account. The employee was overjoyed inside—today was truly his lucky day. Both “old-timers” of the park, Little Snorlax and Eevee, were sold on the same day. Especially this Eevee, though its commission wasn’t as high as Little Snorlax’s 50,000, it was still 20,000—a pretty decent income for him. With a big smile, the employee handed over Eevee’s relevant documents and care instructions, saying, “Sir, I hope you enjoy your time with your Pokémon.”
Wen Qi nodded, turned around with Little Snorlax and Eevee, feeling like he had hit the jackpot today.
