By now, Wen Qi had lost all interest in continuing to buy Pokémon or browsing other shops. He only wanted to rush back to the hotel, enter the small world, and deal with this surprise. After storing the two Pokémon in their Poké Balls, he hurriedly left. Soon, he rode his Arcanine back to the hotel swiftly.
Fortunately, Wen Qi remained composed. Despite the immense surprise stirring within him and his eagerness, he kept a calm exterior. There were no overly exaggerated expressions or strange actions—everything seemed normal. However, anyone familiar with Wen Qi who paid close attention would notice his pace had unconsciously quickened, a sign that only appeared when he was particularly anxious.
Returning to his hotel room, Wen Qi saw his two Pokémon binge-watching a show. He asked them to keep an eye on things while he went into the small world. Before the two Pokémon could react, Wen Qi had already entered the small world, leaving them utterly bewildered.
The Bellossom stared blankly at the Audino and asked, "Did you see or hear anything just now?"
The Audino thought for a moment and replied, "It seems like the owner came back, told us to watch out, and then went into the small world himself."
"Oh, okay then. Let's keep watching the show. The Milotic in this new series is so beautiful!"
"Really? Where? Let me see too!" The Audino exclaimed excitedly upon hearing this. These two Pokémon were complete drama-obsessed girls.
Inside the small world, Wen Qi looked at the four Poké Balls in his hands, his eyes brimming with excitement. These four Poké Balls contained the new Pokémon he had just purchased: Duraludon, Axew, Munchlax, and Eevee.
The breeding houses in the big city were truly impressive—such a wide variety of Pokémon! He had managed to buy these rare ones he'd never seen before. Although their potential was only yellow at best, Wen Qi didn't mind because he had ways to improve it.
Thinking about it, he should visit big cities more often in the future. They might have even rarer Pokémon. Even if their potential was low, Wen Qi could boost it, so buying them would never be a loss.
Holding the four Poké Balls, especially the one containing Eevee, Wen Qi could barely contain his excitement.
"Ha ha ha ha!" He threw his head back and laughed, the sound echoing through the small world. A radiant smile spread across his face, his lips nearly reaching his ears. He bounced on the spot in sheer joy, like a child who had just received their most coveted toy.
"Awesome! Awesome!" he kept muttering. He raised the Poké Balls above his head, then pressed them against his chest, his eyes filled with delight and reverence. He danced around, his steps chaotic, unable to stop.
"Eevee, my Eevee!" he shouted, his voice brimming with indescribable joy. At that moment, Wen Qi was completely immersed in this happiness, forgetting everything else.
After a while of revelry, Wen Qi finally calmed down. Looking at the Poké Balls in his hands, he first released Munchlax and Eevee. With a flash of light, Munchlax and Eevee appeared before him.
Munchlax blinked its big, round eyes, curiously surveying its surroundings. The unfamiliar environment didn't faze it at all—having been bought and taken out before, it was used to the novelty of new places.
Eevee, on the other hand, was a different story. As soon as it appeared, the strange surroundings made it tremble, and it immediately burrowed into Munchlax's embrace. Its eyes were filled with fear and unease, its shivering form evoking a sense of pity.
Munchlax was clearly braver. It quickly noticed Wen Qi, and in that instant, its eyes lit up, and a huge, happy smile spread across its face. It cheerfully carried Eevee and waddled over to Wen Qi with big steps, its round body swaying like a joyful little chubster. Once beside Wen Qi, it affectionately rubbed its big head against his leg, making "woo-woo" sounds as if to say, "Master, I'm so happy to see you!"
Eevee peeked out from Munchlax's arms, cautiously observing Wen Qi. Its eyes still held a hint of confusion and wariness, but seeing how close and dependent Munchlax was on Wen Qi, its fear gradually lessened.
Wen Qi crouched down, gently stroking Munchlax's head, and said with a smile, "Little one, you're this happy to see me?"
Hearing Wen Qi's voice, Munchlax rubbed even harder, occasionally sniffing him as if to confirm the reassuring and pleasant scent. Eevee watched the warm interaction between Wen Qi and Munchlax, slowly emerging from Munchlax's embrace. Its eyes fixed on Wen Qi, the fear in them gradually replaced by curiosity.
Noticing Eevee's change, Wen Qi gently extended his hand toward it. Eevee hesitated for a moment but eventually cautiously brought its little head forward, lightly touching Wen Qi's finger. Feeling Eevee's timidity, Wen Qi's movements became even softer as he gently stroked its head. Eevee, comforted by the gentle touch, squinted its eyes in contentment and let out "Eevee, Eevee" cries, as if saying, "Hello, Master."
Wen Qi watched Eevee gradually relax and said with a smile, "Eevee, don't be afraid. From now on, this is your home."
As if understanding his words, Eevee happily bounced in Munchlax's arms. Wen Qi pulled out some small treats he had prepared for them and handed them to Munchlax and Eevee. The moment Munchlax saw the snacks, its eyes sparkled with excitement. It quickly took them with its little paws and began munching away, its cheeks bulging adorably. Eevee, on the other hand, was more reserved. It first watched Munchlax eat so eagerly, then slowly took the treats, nibbling them bit by bit while observing Wen Qi, its gaze growing warmer.
Wen Qi couldn't help but laugh at their cute antics. He said softly, "Take your time. There's plenty more."
After finishing its snacks, Munchlax ran back to Wen Qi, rubbing its round body against him and making "woo-woo" sounds, as if asking for more. Eevee also finished its treats and grew bolder, hopping into Wen Qi's arms and nuzzling its little head against his chest, acting like it was being spoiled.
Holding Eevee, feeling the warmth of its small body, Wen Qi's heart was filled with joy and satisfaction. He knew that from this moment on, Munchlax and Eevee had begun to accept him, marking their initial capture. Yet, his eyes remained fixed on Eevee, gazing at it as if it were a rare treasure, full of love and cherishment.
