After a period of rest and recuperation, the Sandslash family had regained their former vitality, and their levels had successfully increased by one. Wen Qi planned to send the Sandslash family along with the Turtwig to the berry orchard. With their farming skills and the fertilizer he had purchased earlier, the soil would surely become more fertile, and the berry trees would thrive.
Meanwhile, during her time at home, the Bellossom had developed a strong interest in cooking. At first, she learned from Wen Qi, and though his culinary skills were nothing special, Bellossom thoroughly enjoyed the process. Seeing her enthusiasm, Wen Qi specially bought cooking video tutorials online for her to study on her own. Whether it was natural talent or genuine passion, Bellossom's cooking skills improved day by day. She had now become Wen Qi's personal little chef and housekeeper, making him feel he couldn't do without her attentive care.
The next morning, Wen Qi arranged for the Sandslash family and Turtwig to head to the berry orchard for work, while he planned to go discuss hiring employees with the village chief and inquire if there were any nearby farms selling Pokémon like Miltank. After breakfast, as Wen Qi walked to the farm's main gate, he unexpectedly spotted a figure. It seemed to be an adventurer, slightly older than Wen Qi. Since Wen Qi had noticed him, the other person naturally spotted Wen Qi as well.
This adventurer, named Zhang Wei, was a college freshman. During his summer break, he had come to this mountainous area to train himself while completing some bounty tasks, such as collecting herbs and berries. When he had passed by before, this place was an abandoned farm, and he had rested in the villa. Now, returning, he was surprised to find the once-dilapidated farm completely transformed, and he stopped out of curiosity. Seeing Wen Qi, Zhang Wei asked curiously, "Hello, is this farm yours? When I passed by before, it was in ruins and had been abandoned for a long time."
Hearing this, Wen Qi replied with a smile, "Yes, this farm was my parents' property. I was studying in the city before, so the farm was left neglected for a long time. After graduating this time, I decided to come back and revive it." Zhang Wei listened to Wen Qi's answer, and though Wen Qi looked quite young—likely just out of high school—he didn't press further. At that moment, he noticed the Gogoat and Bellossom beside Wen Qi, sensing the powerful aura emanating from them. Especially the Gogoat, which gave him the feeling of an elite Pokémon. Zhang Wei was inwardly surprised, not expecting this seemingly young Wen Qi to possess such strong Pokémon.
This powerful aura stirred a desire in Zhang Wei to challenge him, even though he knew his own Pokémon were no match for the Gogoat. Still, he couldn't resist the urge to battle Wen Qi. Summoning his courage, he said, "Sorry, but could we have a battle? Whenever I see strong Pokémon, I want to challenge them, especially that Gogoat." Wen Qi, hearing the challenge, thought for a moment and agreed.
They then headed to the farm's abandoned field to prepare for the battle. Wen Qi said, "Let's make it a two-on-two battle. My other Pokémon are at the berry orchard and aren't with me." Zhang Wei nodded in agreement and released his Pokémon—a Wartortle. Through the system, Wen Qi checked and found that this Wartortle had green potential and was currently at level 30. Seeing this, Wen Qi couldn't help but view Zhang Wei in a new light, sensing that this person was no ordinary individual.
The battle began, and Wen Qi first commanded Bellossom to attack: "Bellossom, use Sweet Scent!" Instantly, a fragrance like a spring breeze filled the battlefield, enchanting the Wartortle and making it somewhat mesmerized. Seeing this, Zhang Wei quickly urged the Wartortle to snap out of it. The Wartortle swiftly recovered, fixing its gaze on Bellossom, ready to counter the next attack. Zhang Wei then immediately ordered the Wartortle to strike: "Wartortle, use Water Gun!" A jet of water shot rapidly toward Bellossom, who couldn't dodge in time and was hit. Fortunately, Bellossom had decent resistance to water-type attacks, so the damage wasn't too severe.
Wen Qi was startled to see Bellossom injured, not expecting the opponent's Water Gun to be so fast. He quickly adjusted his strategy, commanding Bellossom to use Quiver Dance and prepare to attack with Moonblast. Bellossom gracefully began to dance, her body radiating a dazzling light with the rhythm, as if a real butterfly fluttering among flowers. This move not only boosted Bellossom's speed and special attack but also made her look even more enchanting. Then, Bellossom gathered all her power and launched a Moonblast at the Wartortle. A silver beam shot from Bellossom, heading straight for the Wartortle. The Wartortle quickly countered with Water Gun, but Bellossom's attack was faster, and the Water Gun could only slightly slow the Moonblast's momentum. Ultimately, the Moonblast pierced through the Wartortle's defenses and struck its body directly. Though resilient, the Wartortle looked battered under this blow.
Seeing the Wartortle injured, Zhang Wei tensed up and quickly commanded it to use Rain Dance. Wen Qi, observing this, had Bellossom pause her attack to watch the opponent's movements. The Wartortle seized the chance to launch a Water Pulse attack, a blue wave of water spraying from its mouth and surging toward Bellossom. Bellossom agilely dodged this attack. Seizing the opportunity, Wen Qi commanded Bellossom to use Giga Drain. The opposing Wartortle instantly felt most of its energy drain away, while Bellossom's health was nearly fully restored. Zhang Wei realized he couldn't drag this out any longer, or he would lose. He hurriedly ordered the Wartortle to use Aqua Tail, a massive tail like a crashing wave attacking Bellossom. Wen Qi immediately directed Bellossom to dodge. Thanks to the boost from Quiver Dance and her restored stamina, Bellossom nimbly evaded the attack.
Seeing that the opposing Wartortle was already exhausted, Wen Qi decisively commanded Bellossom to deliver the final blow: "Bellossom, finish it with Moonblast!" Zhang Wei, witnessing this, urgently urged the Wartortle to use Protect. But it was too late; before the Wartortle could activate Protect, the Moonblast struck it directly, knocking it unconscious and ending the battle in Wen Qi's victory.
Though a bit disappointed, Zhang Wei sincerely praised Wen Qi's Pokémon. He remarked, "I didn't expect someone so young to have such powerful Pokémon. Truly impressive. It seems I still need to work harder." Wen Qi humbly replied, "Not at all, just lucky. Your Wartortle is also very strong; it's just the level gap and type advantage." Wen Qi inwardly marveled that the opponent's strength was indeed formidable. If not for Bellossom's type advantage and higher level, he might have been the one defeated. Wen Qi mused that perhaps it would be better to have Bellossom take on more of a support role in the future, realizing he still had much to practice in battles.
