Chapter 180: Chapter 180: A Question That Should Have Been Asked Two Months Ago (2/10)

Actually, how many unresolvable grudges could there be between little kids?

Although Wu Chen Shiyun was a bit sarcastic and arrogant, which made Xixi unhappy, Xixi soon forgot about it, especially since she had the joy of making a few new friends to cheer her up!

At lunchtime, Chen Shiyun, as usual, couldn't sit still. After a few bites of rice, she wobbled around the cafeteria. Teacher Mu and the others had to look after some kids who were spoiled by their parents and couldn't feed themselves, so they couldn't keep an eye on her.

As a result, when Chen Shiyun passed by Xixi's table, she was captivated by Xixi's chicken wings.

Kind-hearted Xixi didn't refuse; she happily invited Chen Shiyun to eat together. Lan Xin was a bit unhappy, but not because she disliked Chen Shiyun—she was just worried that Chen Shiyun, with her big appetite, would snatch all the good food!

However, Chen Shiyun arrived late, and Lan Xin and Xixi were already full, so she didn't mind too much.

Chen Shiyun, that carefree little girl, didn't realize she had already pushed Xixi out of her circle of friends. She just thought Xixi was "disobedient" and temporarily stopped playing with her.

"Chen Shiyun, are we still good friends?" Xixi asked nervously at the time.

"Of course!" Chen Shiyun said matter-of-factly. "You're the first one I wanted to be friends with!"

Maybe Xixi was still "disobedient," but Chen Shiyun figured that since she had so many tasty treats, a little "disobedience" didn't matter!

...

"So because of the food I made, she made a lot of friends. Haha, looks like I'll have to prepare more in the future!" Yang Yi said smugly to Mo Fei, his hands busy turning the steering wheel as they went over the overpass curve.

This was the way back. Yang Yi had just returned after accepting his punishment. But the punishment was light, and he even enjoyed the admiring looks from the kids.

Unaware of the full story, he thought he had played a big role in Xixi's process of making friends!

"Besides Chen Shiyun and Xin'er, there's also Qiqi," Xixi continued, telling her mom about her new friends after her dad finished. "Qiqi is my third friend. Qiqi doesn't like to talk!"

"Qiqi?" Mo Fei asked curiously. "Her name sounds a lot like yours!"

"Qiqi's name is Yang Luoqi. Her dad calls her Qiqi, hehe, it's really similar to my name! Xin'er even asked if we were from the same family!" Xixi said playfully, sticking out her little tongue. "I think if we were family, I'd be Qiqi's big sister!"

"Haha, you want to be a big sister that badly?" Mo Fei laughed, ruffling the little girl's head.

"Because I'm bigger than Qiqi!" Xixi said matter-of-factly. But it was unclear if she meant age or height.

"It's okay, you'll get to be a big sister someday!" Yang Yi said from the front seat.

"Really?" Xixi grabbed the back of the front seat, asking excitedly.

Mo Fei knew exactly what Yang Yi meant. She blushed and pulled the little one back, scolding, "Don't listen to your dad's nonsense! Keep telling Mom, who else did you meet?"

"There's also Nan Zhaoyu. He doesn't like to talk either, but he can recite poems! In the afternoon, Nan Zhaoyu recited a poem for us!" Xixi said.

Yang Yi immediately became alert: "Is it a boy?"

"Yes! Nan Zhaoyu is a boy, and Qiqi and Xin'er are girls, and Chen Shiyun is a girl too!" Xixi explained, not understanding his concern.

"It's okay if it's a boy. Xixi will meet plenty of boys in the future!" Mo Fei laughed. "Tell me, what poem did he recite?"

Yang Yi didn't pay much attention to what Xixi said next; he was still mulling it over.

Xixi met a boy? And they're good friends?

Next time, he'd have to see which kid it was! Then keep a close watch and stay vigilant!

He had already thought of a plan before: if some clueless kid tried to get close to Xixi, he'd grab a knife...

All the way home, the little one chattered nonstop to her mom about the fun things at kindergarten, full of energy. Although Xixi had always liked talking to her parents, she had never been this outgoing before.

Mo Fei felt that sending her to kindergarten was totally worth it!

Even though she felt a little disappointed—Xixi's reaction wasn't the tearful, missing-her-mom-all-day scenario she had imagined—overall, Xixi was doing well!

When they got home, Yang Yi went to the kitchen to prepare dinner, while Mo Fei continued asking Xixi in detail about her kindergarten experience. Xixi, still enthusiastic, recounted everything, leaving no detail out.

"...Qiqi can dance, and she dances really beautifully!"

It turned out that in the afternoon, Teacher Mu had arranged a small talent show, letting each child perform their own skill.

Of course, not every child was talented. Some were shy and didn't know what to do, standing in the middle at a loss.

When that happened, Teacher Mu would step in, encouraging and guiding them to try to show themselves, even if it was just doing a somersault on the floor! Afterward, she'd get the other kids to applaud them!

Though it was a bit silly, it had to be said that these encouragements helped the children step out of their little shells, giving them more confidence to bravely express themselves in the future.

Mo Fei asked curiously, "So, Xixi, what did you perform?"

"I know a lot!" Xixi puffed out her little chest, proudly telling her mom. "But the teacher said there was no piano, so I couldn't play it. I could only sing. Xin'er sang too, and she sang really loudly!"

"What song did Xixi sing?" Mo Fei saw the little one getting off track again and laughed, pulling the topic back. "Can you show Mom again?"

"Sure!" Xixi loved to perform, especially to show her mom the achievement of getting praised by the teacher. She was full of energy!

"I did it like this, Mom, you sit here, and everyone sits in a circle." The little girl went all out, pulling Mo Fei to sit down, then grabbing her big teddy bear, plush dolls, and even sofa cushions to act as the audience.

"Okay, okay, this works too, pretend there are that many kids around." Mo Fei had to stop her, or Xixi would have set up over thirty of them.

"Then I'll start singing!"

The little girl stood in the middle, completely at ease. She had forgotten how nervous she was back then, and like a real little singer, she began: "Let it go, let it go, can't hold it back anymore..."

Xixi's voice wasn't as loud as Lan Xin's, but it was crisp and textured, both soft and strong, with high clarity!

And when Xixi sang, her pronunciation was spot-on. This English song sounded no worse than the movie's original soundtrack, filled with a lovely innocence.

Mo Fei had heard this melody before, also sung by the little one, but back then she was busy with her comeback album and hadn't paid attention. Now she listened intently, but Xixi stopped after singing it twice.

"Why stop? Finish it!" Mo Fei said eagerly, wanting to see if her daughter could really sing a whole English song.

"I can't! I don't remember the rest." The little girl pouted. "But Dad is amazing! He can sing a lot, and it sounds really good!"

Yang Yi? He sang this song to his daughter? In English? A question that should have been noticed months ago flashed through Mo Fei's mind.
