Chapter 222: Chapter 222: A Little Advice

"If you like it, I'll bring you here every day from now on."

Pei Shaoze looked up and cast a sidelong glance at her, his words carrying an unmistakable dominance.

Su Banxia's lips curled slightly, feeling like the luckiest woman in the world.

After sitting for a short while, the two stood up and left together, their intimate posture and striking looks instantly drawing the attention of many in the shop.

Including Su Sinian's.

Their well-matched silhouettes, as she saw them, were nothing short of a mockery.

"Miss Su, what's wrong?"

Song Wei watched her with keen interest.

Su Sinian knew she couldn't calm her emotions. To avoid revealing too much in front of Song Wei, she hastily stood up and said coolly, "I'm sorry, Mr. Song, but I'm feeling a bit unwell today. I'll have to excuse myself."

With that, Su Sinian grabbed her handbag from the side and quickly left.

Song Wei held his teacup, a deepening look of intrigue in his eyes. The Su family was certainly interesting!

After resting at home for a day, Su Banxia quickly pulled herself together and went back to work.

The most excited to see her return was, of course, Fang Shiqing. Lately, Fang Shiqing had hit a bottleneck in her pursuit of Yan Xin, and without guidance, she was feeling quite frustrated.

"Why the listless look?"

Su Banxia looked at the young woman standing before her and couldn't help but click her tongue.

In Su Banxia's eyes, Fang Shiqing had always been like a little sun—even being hurt by Lin Haoran hadn't dampened her optimistic spirit.

But now...

Seeing this, Su Banxia couldn't help but draw in a sharp breath.

"Don't tease me. Just give me some advice—I'm at my wit's end here."

Fang Shiqing wore a mournful expression, sighing heavily.

"Did your confession get rejected?"

Su Banxia probed cautiously.

Fang Shiqing shook her head. "It hasn't even gotten to that point yet!"

"Then where are you at now?"

Su Banxia raised an eyebrow, asking.

"I'm stuck at bringing him meals, and there's been no breakthrough since. You can't expect me to keep using the 'savior' excuse forever, can you?"

Fang Shiqing said weakly.

Hearing this, Su Banxia clicked her tongue again. "Don't tell me you've been at this for so long and you're still in the same spot?"

"That's why I came to you to figure out a plan!"

Fang Shiqing stepped forward and naturally linked her arm with Su Banxia's.

"Hmm?"

Su Banxia deliberately put on a haughty attitude, refusing to give in.

Unable to read her thoughts, Fang Shiqing pouted and tugged at her arm, swaying it. "Banxia, my dearest Banxia, just give me some ideas."

Softened by her sweet, coaxing tone, Su Banxia couldn't help but chuckle. "Stop bringing him meals for a few days and see how he reacts."

"Is that really a good idea?"

Fang Shiqing was a bit surprised.

"Make yourself deliberately busy during this time, so he ends up caring about you instead. With that back-and-forth, won't things progress between you?"

Su Banxia raised an eyebrow, looking serious.

Fang Shiqing was instantly enlightened and slapped her thigh. "Why didn't I think of that? Banxia, you're a genius! Is this how you seduced Pei Shaoze back in the day?"

"I didn't seduce him."

Su Banxia's face flushed bright red, and she shot her a reproachful glare. "You know how we met."

"Then where did you learn all these love tips?"

Fang Shiqing was curious. Su Banxia's little head was packed with knowledge, always coming up with quirky ideas.

Hearing this, Su Banxia gave her a playful flick on the forehead. "Never seen a pig run, but you've eaten pork, haven't you?"

These tricks were ones Ren Yuan had used on her before.

Fang Shiqing playfully stuck out her tongue and quickly slipped out of her office.

Sure enough, not long after, Pei Shaoze returned from his meeting. His face was as aloof as ever, completely unreadable.

"I've handed the Qin Corporation contract over to Yan Xin. There are plenty of handover details to sort out, so keep an eye on it this afternoon."

Pei Shaoze reminded her considerately.

"I organized some key data this morning."

Su Banxia nodded, speaking seriously.

Pei Shaoze said nothing more, just sat at his desk, lowering his head to review documents.

Seeing that it was about time, Su Banxia tiptoed out of the office, grabbed two takeout meals from a nearby restaurant, and prepared to head back to the company.

The ringing of her phone interrupted her thoughts. Staring at the two big characters flashing on the screen, Su Banxia felt a surge of irritation and bluntly rejected the call.

But the caller's persistence was clear, with an attitude of "I'll keep calling until you pick up."

Left with no choice, Su Banxia swiped to answer, her voice icy. "I remember making myself very clear the other day."

"Banxia."

Ren Yuan gripped his phone tightly, his expression complicated.

"What else do you want?"

Su Banxia asked impatiently.

Steeling himself, Ren Yuan said slowly, "I wanted to visit you in the hospital today, but I found out you'd been discharged. Do you have time?"

"I'm busy with work. Say whatever you need to over the phone."

Su Banxia replied coldly.

"I'd like to take you out for a meal."

Ren Yuan's voice was soft, laced with earnest hope.

Su Banxia let out a cold laugh. "Mr. Ren, do you have money to burn? Sorry, but I'm too swamped with work to make time."

"Banxia, I just want to have a simple meal with you. I've reflected on what happened before, and I know—"

"Stop. I've already said everything I needed to say last time. You don't owe me anything—at least when we were together, it was mutual."

Su Banxia said coldly.

Hearing this, Ren Yuan's heart seemed to skip a beat. "Just one meal. I promise I won't say or do anything."

"Don't you get it? I don't want any ties with you. Stop holding onto false hope. Our story is over. Please, understand that clearly, okay?"

Su Banxia said bluntly.

"I'm sorry, Banxia. I—"

"Don't apologize. There's no debt between us. I don't want to repeat myself!"

With that, Su Banxia hung up and promptly blocked his number.

With the nuisance gone, she felt an immediate sense of peace.
