Chapter 75: Chapter 75: So Lovable

That night!

Su Banxia coaxed Guo Guo and Su Hao to sleep, then sat in the living room reading a book.

Hearing the door open, she looked up to see Fang Shiqing, whose face was flushed red. She couldn't help teasing, "Looks like your date went really well!"

Fang Shiqing changed her shoes, her face still red. It hadn't been like this originally, just a moment ago downstairs.

Lin Haoran...

Glancing at Su Banxia, she spoke, "Why aren't you asleep yet!"

Putting down the book in her hand, Su Banxia smiled faintly. "Waiting to eat some dog food!"

Seeing her like this now, it seemed she really needed some dog food.

Fang Shiqing felt a bit embarrassed and sat down beside her.

A smell of barbecue wafted over. Su Banxia looked at her and asked, "I'm curious, where did you go for dinner?"

"Snack street!"

"You wanted to go?"

Fang Shiqing nodded. "Suddenly felt like it!"

"Sure enough, your fantasies about love are still pretty high."

Su Banxia concluded, "Are you planning to do everything you once wanted to do with that Mr. Lin?"

Fang Shiqing shook her head. "No, going to the snack street was just something I suddenly wanted to do, and he was willing to go with me. It's just that simple."

Su Banxia smiled and nodded, then said calmly, "Shiqing, how well do you know this Mr. Lin?"

Fang Shiqing was slightly taken aback. "I just know his name, think he's a nice person. I haven't asked about anything else."

Su Banxia was a rational person, so she looked at her and said, "Don't rush into it headfirst. Get to know each other first!"

When it came to women and feelings, Su Banxia always felt it was better to lose your body than your heart.

She had never truly loved anyone, but she could imagine how painful it must be to give your heart to someone without reservation and then get hurt.

Su Banxia had a little hobby of making pastries in her free time.

Since the weekend was free anyway, she had made some with Guo Guo and Su Hao in the evening.

The next day, Monday!

She got up early. Su Banxia wasn't quite sure what she was thinking, but she brought some to the company.

As soon as she arrived, she ran into Yan Xin and Pei Shaoze.

After hanging up on Pei Shaoze that day, Su Banxia had enjoyed two carefree days. Seeing him today, his face was cold, his gaze icy.

Her heart was still a bit uneasy. This man held grudges; she hadn't forgotten.

She hesitated about whether to go up and greet him, but Yan Xin came over instead, smiling at her. "Morning! Haven't seen you in two days. You look great today!"

Su Banxia, with her loose tongue, said, "I rested well these past two days!"

As soon as she said it, she met Pei Shaoze's icy glare. He was probably overthinking it again.

Usually, weekends were monopolized by Pei Shaoze. This weekend, she finally had her freedom, and she had deliberately hung up on him.

Saying that, the implication was that Pei Shaoze was mistreating her as his secretary!

Pei Shaoze's expression darkened. He shot a cold glance at Su Banxia and walked straight toward the elevator.

Yan Xin and Su Banxia went together. Seeing something in her hand that looked tempting, he wondered what it was.

So he asked, "What delicious thing did you bring?"

Su Banxia smiled. "Just some small pastries I made last night."

Hearing it was food, Yan Xin felt his mouth water. He looked at Su Banxia. "Do I get to taste them?"

Su Banxia smiled and nodded. "Of course!"

Then she said, "Let me warm them up a bit in the break room first, and I'll bring some to you!"

Yan Xin had just asked casually, not expecting Su Banxia to say that. He was even happier and started showing off to Pei Shaoze.

"Our Banxia is so talented and skillful. She can do everything. So lovable!"

Su Banxia knew he was joking and just smiled, not taking it seriously.

But Pei Shaoze took it to heart.

He started planning in his mind: from now on, he would never let her make food for anyone else. No one but him.

Having this thought, Pei Shaoze felt a moment of discomfort. Su Banxia wasn't his anything, so why should he think that?

After thinking it over, he finally decided that Su Banxia was his secretary, so it was only natural she should make food for him.

He had a whole internal drama going on, but Su Banxia didn't know. What she did know was that today Pei Shaoze would make things difficult for her in every way possible.

But that was fine. She was prepared. No matter how he made things hard, she would just take it.

The elevator doors opened.

It was the executive elevator. Pei Shaoze and Yan Xin both stepped in.

Su Banxia stood still, waiting for the employee elevator. Quite a few colleagues had arrived.

They were all waiting.

Yan Xin got on the elevator and saw Su Banxia still standing there. He looked at her. "Come on, ride up together!"

Su Banxia glanced at Pei Shaoze, whose face was dark and clearly displeased.

She wisely shook her head. "No, no, I'll wait and go with the colleagues!"

Yan Xin wasn't one to fuss over details. Seeing her not move, he simply got off and put his arm around her, guiding her onto the elevator.

Smiling, he said, "Waiting for that elevator is such a hassle. I'm still waiting to taste your pastries!"

Su Banxia smiled, not knowing what to say.

The employees waiting for the employee elevator watched as Yan Xin put his arm around Su Banxia and took the executive elevator, feeling a surge of envy.

Among them was Zhang Shanshan. Watching Yan Xin with his arm around Su Banxia, her hands tightened around the documents she held.

But her expression remained unchanged.

The elevator reached the top floor. Yan Xin kept chatting with Su Banxia.

Pei Shaoze stood like a cold log, motionless, acting as if the two of them didn't exist.

He didn't say a word the whole time, making Su Banxia feel uneasy.

Getting off the elevator, Yan Xin went into his office but before leaving, he reminded Su Banxia, "Don't forget to let me try those pastries!"

Su Banxia nodded and smiled.

Then she followed Pei Shaoze into the office. They walked one after the other, neither speaking. Su Banxia's heart was uneasy, wondering how he would make trouble for her later.

She went to her desk and started organizing files.

Pei Shaoze glanced at her but still said nothing.

Feeling anxious, Su Banxia decided to take the pastries to the break room. At the office door, she looked at Pei Shaoze and smiled. "Mr. Pei, would you like some coffee?"

"No need!"

He gave her two simple words and then went back to reading his files.

Su Banxia nodded slightly and left the office.

She thought to herself, "This kind of silent, cold attitude is the hardest to deal with."

In the break room, Su Banxia put the pastries in the microwave while wondering how Pei Shaoze would make things difficult for her today.

No matter how much she thought about it, she couldn't figure it out.

"Secretary Su, what's in your microwave? It seems ready."

Su Banxia was lost in thought when a colleague reminded her.

She snapped out of it and smiled. "Thanks!"

Then she took the pastries out of the microwave.

Seeing Yan Xin's assistant, Zhang Shanshan, making coffee nearby, she asked, "Assistant Zhang, is that coffee for Mr. Yan?"

Zhang Shanshan nodded. "Mm-hmm!"

Su Banxia said, "Could you do me a favor? Take this to Mr. Yan."

She handed the pastries to her with a faint smile.

Zhang Shanshan glanced at what she offered, smiled, nodded, and said, "Sure!"

Then she took the pastries.

The coffee was ready, so she carried both the coffee and the pastries out.

Su Banxia was still thinking about Pei Shaoze, so she just made a cup of coffee and went straight back to the office.

At the door of Yan Xin's office.

Zhang Shanshan looked at the pastries in her hand, a hint of disdain curling her lips.

Without a second thought, she tossed the pastries straight into the trash can by the door.

Then, with a smile, she entered Yan Xin's office.

She placed the coffee on Yan Xin's desk. "Mr. Yan, your coffee!"

Yan Xin was reviewing documents. He nodded but said nothing.
