Feng Zi gritted his teeth. Because of what had happened before, he had clearly developed some resistance to Bai Tang's words by now.
Looking at her, he didn't drop his smile. "I heard Miss Bai got expelled from school. Do you need any help?"
"Who's spreading that nonsense?" Bai Tang looked at him with a lazy, nonchalant air. "In life, if you've got nothing to do, just read more books and newspapers. Don't go around like a lunatic, listening to gossip all day!"
Feng Zi took a deep breath, grinding his teeth. "You're insulting me!"
Bai Tang curled her lips into a wicked grin. "Oh wow, you've actually gotten smarter!"
"Clap, clap, clap..." She raised her hand in a perfunctory round of applause, then dropped the smile and walked toward the door.
Feng Zi clenched his fist, holding back his temper. "I can help you. I can make your father agree to let you continue your studies!"
Bai Tang couldn't be bothered to respond. She opened the door and stepped inside.
As she was closing it, Feng Zi reached out and blocked the door with his hand.
"Let go!" Bai Tang warned.
"Bai Tang, how about we make a deal?"
Feng Zi spoke with a smile, his whole demeanor carrying a hint of arrogance. The slight lift of his chin as he said this even gave off an air of bestowing a favor upon someone.
Bai Tang twitched the corner of her mouth and said mockingly, "What makes you so confident that I'd make a deal with you?"
Insulted again, Feng Zi couldn't hide his irritation now. The light in his eyes turned somewhat sinister. "Bai Tang, I'm speaking to you nicely right now. You'd better know your place and not be so ungrateful!"
Bai Tang crossed her arms, looking at him with a roguish air. "What kind of face do you have to give me face?"
"Do you believe I can make it impossible for you to take a single step in Lingshan City?" Feng Zi threatened, his words laced with a hint of cruelty.
Clearly, after being met with her sharp retorts time and again despite his polite demeanor, his patience and tolerance had worn thin.
He thought his threat would make Bai Tang back off a little, or even scare her.
But to his surprise, the girl in front of him just grinned and said, "Oh, how impressive!"
The dismissive, sarcastic attitude couldn't have been more obvious.
Feng Zi's face darkened even further.
Faced with someone who was impervious to reason, his threats held no deterrent power in her eyes; instead, they made him look like a clown putting on a show.
Feng Zi stared coldly at the girl, his fists clenched. "You'll soon realize how foolish your actions today were!"
With that parting shot, Feng Zi turned and left.
He drove away, his face as dark as a storm cloud.
Picking up his phone, he dialed directly. "Tell Bai Chengfeng I want to see him now!"
Hanging up, Feng Zi floored the gas pedal, his entire being radiating a gloomy, ruthless aura.
Bai Tang...
Just wait. He'd make her understand the consequences of not knowing what was good for her.
Half an hour later, Bai Chengfeng arrived at the private room.
Pushing open the door and seeing the man sitting inside playing with a lighter, Bai Chengfeng immediately put on a smile. "Sorry, Second Young Master Feng, I'm late."
Feng Zi stopped his movements, looked up at Bai Chengfeng, and said with an air of superiority, "Sit."
Bai Chengfeng sat down with a smile, his face carrying a hint of flattery. "May I ask what business the Second Young Master has with me?"
"I want to talk to you about your company." Feng Zi tossed the lighter onto the table, looked up, and fixed Bai Chengfeng with a playful smile.
Having weathered decades of ups and downs in the business world, Bai Chengfeng already had a good idea of what Feng Zi was getting at.
"Is the Second Young Master looking to discuss a partnership with my company?" Bai Chengfeng asked with a smile.
Feng Zi raised an eyebrow and said with a half-smile, "Your company? Mr. Bai, from what I've heard, it seems that after this morning, your position as chairman was taken away by your own daughter."
