Bai Tang smiled. "That's my best friend. If I were to introduce him, what identity should I use to introduce this beauty to my friend?"
"How about 'boyfriend'? Does that work?"
Sheng Qi frowned slightly, his expression darkening.
Bai Tang grinned, a roguish smile on his face. "Not boyfriend? Then how about future husband?"
"Silence? I'll take that as a yes!"
"Stop messing around!" Sheng Qi said, displeased.
"Beauty, I'm so heartbroken!" Bai Tang sighed dramatically. "You won't even agree, so I'm leaving!"
With that, Bai Tang straightened up, turned, and walked toward Bai Wu's spot.
Bai Wu saw Bai Tang approaching, smiled, and followed her to hail a taxi nearby.
Sheng Qi frowned deeply, drove over, and stopped right beside them. "Get in!"
Bai Tang's lips curled, a hint of amusement flickering in her eyes. She said to Bai Wu, "Get in."
Bai Wu nodded. Though full of questions, he knew this wasn't the time to voice them.
He reached out and opened the rear door for Bai Tang.
Just as Bai Tang was about to get in, Sheng Qi's chilly voice rang out again. "Sit in the front!"
Bai Tang raised an eyebrow and smiled.
Watching Bai Tang head toward the passenger seat, Bai Wu also walked over, opened the door for her, and waited until she was seated before getting into the back.
Sheng Qi watched this scene expressionlessly, feeling that everything this man did was somehow grating, making him deeply annoyed.
Inside the car, after a few minutes of silence, Sheng Qi spoke coldly. "Head to the club. I'll tutor you today."
Bai Tang shook her head. "My friend's here. I need to spend time with him today. I'm not going to the club."
"How much time do you have left before your exams, and you're still thinking about playing around?" Sheng Qi said, displeased.
Bai Tang: "..."
You really are a great teacher, huh.
Always on my case about studying.
"Didn't we say we'd start lessons after Zhang Xiaochu gets discharged?" Bai Tang asked.
"I'll have someone keep an eye on Zhang Xiaochu's side."
Sheng Qi glanced at Bai Wu in the rearview mirror.
But he saw Bai Wu sitting there completely composed and at ease, seemingly uninterested in their conversation.
As for his gaze, the other man sensed it almost immediately and met his eyes.
Sheng Qi indifferently looked away, focusing ahead, curious about the man's identity.
Turning his head to look at the woman beside him, Sheng Qi spoke again. "Do you want to do better on your exams or not?"
Sheng Qi's words made Bai Wu frown slightly.
How dare he question his lady's intelligence!
But seeing that Bai Tang didn't refute him, Bai Wu swallowed the words he was about to say.
"I'm not feeling well today. I'll go tomorrow," Bai Tang said.
Sheng Qi noticed her hand on her stomach, reached over, grabbed the thermos beside him, and handed it to her. "Brown sugar water."
Bai Tang was a bit surprised.
So, he came looking for her today just to bring brown sugar water?
Tsk tsk tsk... Who would've thought the big shot could be so thoughtful.
"Beauty, you're my little warm pack," Bai Tang said cheerfully, opening the cup and taking a sip.
Sheng Qi's face turned cold. "Are you asking for a beating?"
"You wouldn't dare!"
From the back seat, Bai Wu, who had been silent until now, spoke coldly.
Sheng Qi's eyes narrowed dangerously. The car had just stopped at a red light. He turned to look at Bai Wu and asked flatly, "And you are?"
Bai Wu returned a cold expression. "Her bodyguard."
Sheng Qi's gaze shifted to Bai Tang. "Bodyguard?"
Bai Tang: "..."
