Sheng Qi cast a cool glance at Bai Tang, then shifted his gaze to Bai Wu, who was helping Bai Tang carry a backpack, his eyes narrowing dangerously.
Why is this person still here? Did he come over early this morning, or did he never leave last night?
Suspecting the latter, Sheng Qi’s stare at Bai Wu grew even more perilous.
Bai Tang stepped forward toward him, a bright smile on her face. "Mr. Sheng, you’re here so early—are you picking me up for school?"
Sheng Qi’s gaze fell coldly on Bai Tang. He wanted to deny it, but the sight of Bai Wu was particularly grating.
"Get in the car. I have something to ask you!" Sheng Qi said expressionlessly.
Bai Wu was thoroughly displeased with Sheng Qi. Even if his young lady wanted to pursue Sheng Qi, that didn’t mean Sheng Qi could treat her like this!
"Xiao Bai has school to attend and no time for idle chat with you!" Bai Wu refused bluntly, directly dismissing Sheng Qi’s words.
Sheng Qi’s icy glare locked onto Bai Wu, and an intense aura of hostility and pressure radiated from him.

Bai Tang watched the tension between them, as if a war was about to ignite, and couldn’t help but raise a hand to cover her forehead.

She tugged at Bai Wu’s sleeve, leaning in slightly to whisper, "Don’t provoke him. He’s hard to calm down."
Her voice was so low that only Bai Wu could hear.
Sheng Qi couldn’t catch what Bai Tang said, but after she finished, Bai Wu averted his gaze entirely, refusing to look at him.
Sheng Qi’s brows furrowed tightly. He wanted to speak again but instead stepped forward, grabbed Bai Tang’s wrist, and pulled her into the car.
Slamming the door shut, Sheng Qi turned and coldly fixed his eyes on Bai Wu, then took a step forward and snatched the backpack from his hands.
At Bai Tang’s subtle signal, Bai Wu did nothing, letting Sheng Qi take the bag.
Watching Sheng Qi get into the car with a frosty demeanor, Bai Wu turned his gaze to Bai Tang, a faint, gentle smile curling at the corner of his lips. "What do you want for lunch? Send me a message, and I’ll go buy groceries later."
Bai Tang nodded, only then remembering she hadn’t turned on her phone yet.
"I’ll send it to you later," she said, but before she could finish, Sheng Qi had already made a sharp turn and sped off.
Sheng Qi glanced at the rearview mirror, which reflected Bai Wu standing quietly at the doorway, his gaze fixed on the direction they were driving away.
He didn’t look away until the car turned a corner and the figure in the mirror vanished.
Turning his head, he saw Bai Tang fiddling with her phone. Remembering the messages he’d sent last night, he couldn’t help frowning. "Why didn’t you reply to my messages last night? Did you finish your homework?"
Bai Tang’s mouth twitched. "I just turned on my phone and saw them!"
"So, did you finish your homework?" Sheng Qi pressed.
Bai Tang: "..."
Honestly, if we skip the homework talk, we could still have a pleasant conversation.
"Teacher Sheng, how about we change the subject?" Bai Tang said with a smile.
"Bai Tang, you’re a student. Don’t go around acting like Zhang Xiaochu with his chuunibyou, playing the school bully, or messing around with early romance!" Sheng Qi said coldly. "Students should focus on studying. You have less than two months until the college entrance exam—don’t waste time on nonsense!"
Bai Tang’s mouth twitched again. "Big shot, you might have the wrong idea about me..."
"I’m not some chuunibyou girl, and I don’t want to be a school bully. As for early romance... if you’re worried it’ll affect my exams, how about we date in college instead?"
