Chapter 47: Chapter 47: You Actually Love Me So Much

Zhang Xiaochu stared at her for a long moment before speaking. "Girl, can we stop with the act?"

Bai Tang grinned, flashing a bright smile. "No way!"

Following Bai Tang's steps, Zhang Xiaochu noticed she showed no sign of relenting and couldn't help frowning.

"What would it take for you to agree to join?"

Zhang Xiaochu looked at her pitifully. "Sister Tang, please take me under your wing!"

Bai Tang found him amusing and replied, "Didn't you say Sheng Qi's driving skills are amazing? If you can get in, why worry about him not teaching you?"

"He's too fierce. I still prefer you!" Zhang Xiaochu flattered without hesitation.

"Little Chu Chu, do you think acting all pitiful like this will make me agree?" Bai Tang chuckled. "Impossible!"

Zhang Xiaochu: "..."

"Sister Tang..."

"I'm heading back!" Bai Tang said calmly.

"Hey..."

Zhang Xiaochu watched her leave with a frustrated expression.

After a moment, he pulled out his phone and dialed. "She refused! And her attitude was pretty firm."

---

Chu Yi hung up Zhang Xiaochu's call and turned to walk over to Sheng Qi.

"Boss, I had Zhang Xiaochu talk to Bai Tang, but she turned it down."

Sheng Qi slowly lifted his gaze, giving him a cold look.

Chu Yi felt a chill run down his spine. "Boss, didn't you want her to join too?"

Sheng Qi frowned. "Since she refused, there's no need to force it."

Chu Yi wanted to say more, but Sheng Qi cut him off. "Get to work."

Chu Yi: "..."

Sheng Qi set down the documents in his hand, his gaze drifting off.

The ringing of his phone nearby snapped him out of his thoughts.

"Hello..."

"When are you planning to come back?"

"No plans for now." Sheng Qi said expressionlessly.

"Are you trying to piss me off!" A gruff voice erupted instantly.

"I told you, I'll come back when it's time."

With that, Sheng Qi hung up, ignoring the shouting on the other end.

He tossed his phone aside, feeling increasingly restless.

Grabbing his phone, Sheng Qi left the club without another word.

---

Hearing the doorbell, Bai Tang assumed it was the delivery and hurried to open the door.

Seeing the person standing outside, she was a bit surprised, then a smile curled at her lips.

"Chasing me all the way to my place, and you still say you're not interested in me!" Bai Tang winked at him.

"Can we talk?" Sheng Qi said flatly.

"Come on in."

Bai Tang stepped aside to let him in.

Sheng Qi frowned slightly but still walked inside.

"What does the beauty want to chat about?" Bai Tang felt he was sitting too far away, so she got up and plopped down right next to him.

Sheng Qi gave her a cold look. "Sit across from me."

"This is my home. I sit where I want." Bai Tang grinned mischievously.

Sheng Qi took a deep breath, resisting the urge to get up and leave, then said, "I want to know why you don't want to join the team."

"Because you won't pull strings for me!" Bai Tang laughed. "Without backing or a leg to lean on, what if I get bullied?"

Sheng Qi snorted. He hadn't forgotten how she'd taken on a group alone with a bat.

"If..." Sheng Qi frowned again. "If I agree to that, will you join?"

Bai Tang's smile widened, a hint of amusement in her eyes as she looked at him, dropping a bombshell. "I never thought you'd love me this much. I'm almost moved to tears."
