Chapter 203: Chapter 203: The Lazy Noibat

After leaving Eevee's side, Wen Qi arrived at Dragon Island.

As soon as he got there, he spotted Noibat playing and Dragonair training.

At that moment, Noibat and Dragonair also noticed Wen Qi's arrival.

Noibat was overjoyed, flapping its wings rapidly like an arrow shot from a bow, darting straight to Wen Qi in an instant.

It rubbed its tiny head affectionately against Wen Qi's cheek, letting out cheerful "buzzes" nonstop.

Dragonair, on the other hand, twisted its long, sleek body and swiftly glided over to Wen Qi.

It gently rested its head against Wen Qi's leg, its smooth scales brushing softly against his clothes.

Then, Dragonair looked up at Wen Qi with bright, expectant eyes, occasionally letting out a soft dragon cry, as if telling him about the results of its training.

Wen Qi was moved by the affectionate gestures of these two Pokémon, a warm smile spreading across his face.

During this time, despite Dragonair's diligent training, its level remained at 38.

However, some of its moves had improved quite well—most were now proficient, and a few had even reached mastery. It seemed that while he was away, Dragonair had truly been training hard.

As for the playful Noibat, Wen Qi could only sigh in resignation. Checking through the system, this was Noibat's status:

Pokémon: Noibat Level: 13 Type: Flying + Dragon Ability: Telepathy (reads the target's moves and avoids damage from them) Talent: Cyan Moves: Tackle (Beginner), Absorb (Beginner), Gust (Skilled), Supersonic (Skilled), Double Team (Beginner), Wing Attack (Beginner), Dragon Pulse (Beginner), Tailwind (Beginner), Air Cutter (Beginner)

Seeing Noibat's move proficiency, Wen Qi knew this little one hadn't been training seriously.

Only Gust and Supersonic were at a skilled level; the rest were still just beginner.

Given Noibat's talent, this progress was far too slow. Its level had only increased by three in all this time, likely due to constant slacking off.

Thinking this, Wen Qi decided he'd need to keep a closer eye on Noibat's training from now on.

But then he remembered the two newly joined Dragon-type Pokémon, whose strength was similar to Noibat's. Perhaps he could have them train together.

So, looking at Noibat and Dragonair, who were still clinging to him, Wen Qi said:

"You two little ones, I've brought you new companions. Are you happy?"

Hearing this, Noibat's eyes lit up like stars. It spun around in the air excitedly, buzzing nonstop, as if saying:

"Great! Great! New friends to play with!"

It couldn't wait to meet the new companions, its mind filled with joyful scenes of playing together. So thrilled was it at the thought of no longer being lonely, it nearly crashed into a nearby tree trunk.

Dragonair, however, merely lifted its head slightly, a hint of indifference in its eyes.

It flicked its tail lightly, as if to say:

"New companions? Hmph, no matter who comes, I'm still the strongest here!"

That little proud look was enough to make anyone chuckle. It continued resting its head on Wen Qi's leg, thinking about its training achievements, showing little enthusiasm for the newcomers.

Wen Qi watched the starkly different reactions of his two Pokémon and shook his head with a smile.

He gently patted Noibat's head and said:

"You, don't just think about playing. You need to train hard with the new companions too."

Noibat blinked mischievously, as if agreeing, yet also as if not taking it to heart.

Wen Qi then turned to Dragonair and said earnestly:

"Dragonair, as the big brother, you need to take care of the new companions and set a good example."

Dragonair raised its head and let out a confident dragon cry, as if saying:

"Don't worry, Master. I understand."

Wen Qi looked at them helplessly, finding it amusing yet full of anticipation, wondering how the new companions would change things.

Then, Wen Qi opened the Poké Balls. With a flash of light, Duraludon and Axew appeared before them.

Arriving on this unfamiliar Dragon Island, both Duraludon and Axew had a flicker of panic in their eyes.

Duraludon's metallic body trembled slightly. It cautiously surveyed its surroundings, ears perked up, eyes filled with vigilance.

Axew kept its mouth tightly shut, its small claws instinctively gripping the ground, body curled up, looking very tense.

But the innate pride of Dragon-type Pokémon soon gave them courage.

Duraludon straightened up, its gaze gradually firming, as if declaring to everything around:

"I won't be scared off by a little unfamiliarity!"

Axew also released its grip on the ground, lifted its head, and tried to appear fearless, a stubborn glint shining in its small eyes.

When they saw Wen Qi, the wariness in their eyes lessened slightly.

They knew this person was their master. Though they hadn't fully accepted the bond yet, they understood deep down that their master wouldn't harm them.

So, Duraludon took steady, deliberate steps toward Wen Qi, each step solemn and powerful, as if showcasing its bravery and resilience.

Axew, on the other hand, hopped and skipped toward Wen Qi, its steps light but trying to appear mature and composed.

When they finally reached Wen Qi, Axew and Duraludon lowered their heads slightly, a gesture of closeness.

Wen Qi watched as Duraludon and Axew bowed their heads to show affection, feeling a surge of emotion.

The breeding facility in the big city really knew what it was doing. These Pokémon seemed to understand from the start that they would become a trainer's partner, making them so easy to catch.

He smiled and said to the two Pokémon:

"This is my territory. You don't need to be afraid. Plus, the energy here is abundant, perfect for your growth."

The two Pokémon listened to Wen Qi's words and tentatively sensed their surroundings.

Duraludon closed its eyes, carefully feeling the energy flowing through the air.

Its metallic body seemed to resonate with the surrounding energy, faintly shimmering with a mysterious light, its scales trembling slightly with the energy's fluctuations.

After a moment, it opened its eyes, a look of surprise in them, clearly feeling the nourishing effect of this place's energy.

Axew was no exception. Its small body trembled slightly, as if absorbing the energy around it.

Its previously tense expression gradually relaxed, replaced by joy and contentment, its little tail wagging happily.

"See? Was I right?"

Wen Qi asked with a smile, watching the delight on the two Pokémon's faces.

Duraludon let out a low, powerful sound, as if responding to Wen Qi.

Axew happily hopped a few times, letting out crisp, loud cries of "Axew! Axew!" filled with excitement.

Seeing them so happy, Wen Qi felt a deep sense of satisfaction.

He knew that in this energy-rich place, they would grow strong and become more powerful.
